Toilet Paper Roll Planters Here’s a quick and easy way to get a jump on your spring planting by using a common household item, the empty toilet paper tube. What you’ll need: Empty toilet paper tubesSharp scissorsPotting soilSeeds or cuttingsA tray or lid to hold your plantings To begin, cut your tubes in half, horizontally.
You’ll get two planters from each tube. Cut four flaps at the bottom of the tube, about .75†long, and fold them in to form the bottom of your planter. Once the tubes are filled with dirt and watered, the weight will keep the tube closed, so there’s no need to tape it shut. Toilet Paper Roll Owls Great For A Rainy Day. I love any craft using recycled toilet paper tubes, or are they toilet paper rolls?
Not sure really but in any case, if you've been saving them (as I have) then you can whip out a few and make yourself some cute owls. I thought this would be a great starting point for a little craft project with the kids this afternoon. I find that if they see how cute the finished product can be they'll be more likely to actually sit down and make something, whether or not their results are at all similar to mine. I think I'll bring out some paint, some paper, a glue stick and regular glue, some sequins maybe some feathers (if I can find some) and see what I can inspire my little ones to create. I hope to share the results with you! Of course, toilet paper roll owls are all over the place, but I was specifically inspired by this photo, to give credit where credit is due!
End of school treat for classmates (with printable) My youngest son has already finished up the school year (kindergarten ends early) and I wanted to bring in a little treat for him to hand out to his classmates at the end-of-school party.
Really I think they are from *me* as I'm more traumatized about school ending than him. I helped out in the classroom once a week so I have become quite attached to these sweet kids. I figured I'd share the printable in case anyone would like to make some, too. They are made to fit around Hershey Miniatures Chocolate Bars. Just cut out, fold at each vertical line, and adhere around bar on the adhesive tab. Print onto white cardstock and *be sure* to set the Page Scaling to None when printing or they won't be the right size. I also kept with the owl theme for "wrapping" the teacher gift. At first I thought he looked too mad, but now I just can't get enough of him.
