Tallinn University. 1919 luuakse Tallinna Ülikooli eelkäija Tallinna Õpetajate Seminar, kus alustatakse klassiõpetajate ja mitme aine õpetajate ettevalmistamisega. 1940 Valmis ülikoolilinnaku esimene hoone, Terra. Täna kuuluvad linnakusse Astra, Mare, Nova, Silva, Terra ja Ursa hooned. 1947 Tallinna Õpetajate Seminarist saab Tallinna Õpetajate Instituut. Samal aastal asutati Eesti Teaduste Akadeemia koosseisu Ajaloo Instituut. 1952 Tallinna Õpetajate Instituut nimetati ümber Tallinna Pedagoogiliseks Instituudiks. 1955 Tallinna Pedagoogilise Instituudi uus nimi on Eduard Vilde nimeline Tallinna Pedagoogiline Instituut. 1988 Sõpruskond haritlasi asutas Eesti Humanitaarinstituudi, millest on tänaseks saanud Eesti oluline humanitaar- ja sotsiaalteaduste edendaja. 1988 asutati Eesti Teaduste Akadeemia koosseisus Rahvusvaheliste ja Sotsiaaluuringute Instituudi eelkäija. 2015 vastu võetud arengukavaga seab Tallinna Ülikooli eesmärgiks olla targa eluviisi eestvedaja Eestis.

Lokakuu 15, 2012 - 11:13, Laura Sillanpää The Finnish Society on Media Education would like to invite You to an international media education seminar 14.–15.2.2013 in Tampere, Finland. The topic of the seminar is 0–12-year old children's media use, media skills and best practices of media education. During two days we will discuss the evaluation and spreading of best practices, children's participation and multiculturalism in media education as well as other current topics on children's media culture. The topic will be examined from different perspectives covering both the formal and non-formal field.

The program consists of keynote lectures, presentations and panel discussions. Keynote lectures will be held by Professor of Education, PhD Jackie Marsh, University of Sheffield and PhD Reijo Kupiainen, Adjunct Professor (Media Education) Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Professor (Theory of Visual Culture) Aalto University.
