Project Ðouglas. Mixed Reality Laboratory. Key aims and expertise The Mixed Reality Laboratory (MRL) creates interactive technologies to enhance everyday life. Our research is grounded in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. We combine an interdisciplinary approach (linking to the Social Sciences and Humanities) with an intra-disciplinary approach (with areas such as Distributed Systems, AI, Vision and Formal Methods) to enable an end-to-end methodology in which we both develop novel digital technologies, but also deploy and understand them ‘in the wild’. Our focus on everyday life extends beyond the workplace to encompass technologies for the home, the workplace and for culture and entertainment. Connecting Cities Urban Media Lab - Call for Projects. Symposium, masterclass & urban interventions In the framework of the European project Connecting Cities : Participatory City 2014, iMAL organises an Urban Media Lab masterclass. During an intensive six days workshop led by artists Ali Momeni & Luciano Pinna, selected participants will produce artworks that explore new forms of urban participation, using existing mobile technologies and custom DIY devices. To enrich the thinking and open new perspectives, renowned speakers and artists will discuss various aspects of urban media during a two days public symposium.
Finally, join us at the end of the workshop to experience the projects produced by the artists, that will invade the public space in the neighbourhood of iMAL. Zeitspur: Kultursilo, a set on Flickr.heute mit ein paar Kollegen im Kultursilo in Hünenberg zu Besuch - nun eigentlich auf der Baustelle, denn das Kultursilo entsteht erst und wird Ateliers und Räume für Veranstaltungen beherbergen. Im Herbst soll Eröffnung sein … dann drücke ich die Daumen, dass alles klappt bei diesem grossartigen, kreativen Projekt! Aus einem nicht mehr genutzten Stall und Silos entsteht ein Kulturlokal. Eine grossartige Initiative in unserer Nachbargemeinde Hünenberg. Bravo Michael und danke für die interessanten Einblicke in das Projekt. Am Samstag werden nicht nur Kübel zur Bepflanzung vorbereitet auf P3 sondern es wird auch eine 1-Loch Golfanlage erstellt :-) Die 1. Geri und Thomas haben das schöne Wetter ausgenutzt und begonnen, den P3 Dachgarten vorzubereiten - und mehr als das: ein Dachterrasse mit einzigartigem Blick ins Papieri-Areal ist auch entstanden.
