Neste artigo apresentamos questões relativas à localização e adaptação de recursos educacionais digitais. Começamos com uma discussão sobre objetos de aprendizagem (OA) e recursos educacionais abertos (REA). Apresentamos três estratégias que podem auxiliar designers, professores e usuários a refletir sobre a possibilidade de reuso, localização, e adaptação cultural de recursos educacionais digitais. De caráter exploratório e descritivo, a pesquisa utiliza de revisão bibliográfica e documental pertinente para a fundamentação e o tratamento analítico do corpus do trabalho. A pesquisa foi realizada em duas situações complementares: a) o levantamento e a análise dos principais padrões de metadados (MARC 21, Dublin Core, LOM/IEEE e a ISO 19788-2), com o intuito de definir os principais campos descritores aplicáveis para Repositórios Educacionais Abertos; e b) identificação dos campos descritores utilizados no Sistema Universidade Aberta do Brasil.

It also describes some of the emerging evidence of the impacts inside and outside the university. Through the rapid implementation and operation of the OpenLearn website, The Open University UK has been able to better understand and promote openness through open and distance learning.
