Suit Coat Clutch TUTORIAL. This was my project for the $5 and under for sytyc.

Suit Coat Clutch TUTORIAL

I would first like to take a second and thank each of you for your support this past week. I was overwhelmed by the love and support I got from each of you. Thank you so very much. It meant the world to me :) And don’t worry, I still plan to do all the crafts I had thought of for the competition. I won’t be doing them in the same order/time frame as sytyc. Ok, to make this awesome clutch, you’ll need an old suit jacket.

All you’ll need to make a suit coat clutch is a suit jacket (duh), seam ripper, scissors, sewing machine, magnetic snap, and needles and thread. First I used a seam ripper and separated the sleeve seam. Move the lining out of the way. Cut off the sleeve cuff and save this. Cut a 13″x18″ rectangle from the sleeve. I was not able to get a big enough piece, so I cut a small section to make up the difference…. which I sewed on and ironed open the seam. Next, divide your 13″x18″ piece into thirds. Sew cuff into place.

I nearly fell out of my office chair when this shoot landed in my inbox. I’m that nerd who is front and center at the movie theatre dressed like Galadriel and can quote the books. So in my LOTR fan girl opinion – Amy McArthur of Amy Kristina Weddings did an absolutely fabulous job bringing the lighthearted side of Middle Earth to life! From Amy - “I’ve wanted to design a Hobbit inspired wedding for years now. Growing up, I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series, by J.R.R.

More from Amy - “We had four different set-ups. The second set-up was like the entrance to the wedding. From Amy - “I wanted our bride to look very natural. It comes from sunny Florida, but today features somewhat of a wet wedding. This beautiful rustic wedding includes an outdoor ceremony and barn reception, and even though the rain poured down hours before the ceremony Bethany and Brad didn’t let this dampen their day. Even though Heather and John planned an early November wedding in Minneapolis, they didn’t want the traditional orange, brown and red color scheme for their big day.

Luckily, they found two venues that didn’t need much in the way of décor—Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church for the ceremony and James J. Hill Reference Library for the reception. From there Laura Mullen Event Design helped the couple plan a sophisticated event that featured lots of muted gray, mercury glass, and candles amid unique florals from A Day in Provence that pulled in magnolia leaves, pheasant feathers, and white hydrangeas.

The skirt of Heather’s Reem Acra gown reminds us of spun sugar, but the real treat was a sweet dessert table anchored by a gray-and-white cake from Cocoa & Fig. Laura Ivanova Photography was the perfect choice, too—these images are breathtaking! Fact about me: I’m a fan of Steampunk.

Royal Steamline: Vintage & Steampunk Wedding Invitations

I grew up around a community of artists who were involved in the early Steampunk movement, and I’m really into old things made new, mixed with whimsy, and a sense of humor. And I’m really into the sense that we can constantly re-imagine the world around us. So I’ve been a big fan of Royal Steamline and their wedding paper goods for a long time (they do Steampunk and way, way more), and I’m delighted to introduce them as brand new APW sponsors. Royal Steamline is a family owned business made up of a husband and wife team, Aerin and Jeremy. They describe their company mission thusly, “We are committed to creating wedding stationery that veers slightly off course.”

Carnival-inspired Treats For Your Wedding

I want them to have a good time!” What better way to inspire a fun and care-free atmosphere than harking back to the good old days of enjoying treats at the carnival? There’s also something romantic about old circuses and “finding love under the big top.” Your guests will love chowing down on carnival-inspired comfort food favorites. Second-Hand Books as Wedding Favors. Posted on August 15, 2012 by Christina I love the idea of giving books as wedding favors.

However, this could get expensive if you are having more than a handful of guests. Unless, of course, you buy them second-hand! Garage sale season is in full throttle, which means that now is the perfect time to stock up on gently used books. Book favors are perfect for weddings with a literary or library theme – but you don’t need a theme to make them the ideal favor for your wedding. As far as choosing your books, why not pick some of your favorite reads or books that on your own wishlist? I love the personalized bookmarks that come with these books. I adore how this bride grouped the books with ribbon. The tartan ribbon is perfect! These book favors are so elegantly wrapped. This bride gave felt flower bookmarks with each book. A Styled Seaside Wedding. Today’s post is one of the cutest photoshoots we have ever seen! From the bride’s ruffled blue dress to the adorable pug in a bowtie, everything about it makes us smile.

Mandy and Zoe of Dottie Creations and Dottie Photography did all the styling, stationery, and photography themselves! What talented ladies. The fun signage is a super cost effective way to add some major style points to your wedding. And those red shoes – swoon!! Seriously, how cute is that pug? We love how they wrapped all the tin cans with fun sayings as well. Chelsea and Gareth, the models, looked stunning! Abby & Zach’s Piazza Peacock Wedding « Dallas Wedding Photographer Stacy Reeves. It has been killing me to hold on to this wedding but I’ve been patiently biding my time, keeping these images quiet.

Now that I finally have the go ahead from Style Me Pretty (where the pics will be featured this afternoon), I can show them off! Abby & Zach’s wedding was an awesome one for many reasons. Abby is a photographer herself, so she and I were completely on the same wavelength when it came to many aspects of the wedding day, and she really put a lot of thought into every detail of their wedding. From the tiny ceramic squirrels (Abby and Zach’s favorite animal) to the heart-shaped locks they gave away as favors (a European tradition; both Abby and Zach have lived abroad in Europe), to the clever play on their initials (A & Z) to the vibrant use of purple (Abby’s favorite color), this wedding was all about the couple and the things they love.
