FreeCommander XE: Hilfe !!!

FreeCommander ~ Tips & Tricks 1

Custom Layouts can be saved for many different pane and tab setups. (see guides for Configuring Display Elements) With alternate INI files, you can save multiple setups for everything. You can have INI files for different toolbar setups, for different External Programs and WLX plugins, for color schemes, for anything you can find in the Settings configuration windows actually, and in endless combinations. Should YOU use multiple / alternate INI files? I have a number of reasons to do this --- I run FreeCommander from a portable drive on four computers, so I need setups for different screen resolutions, especially fonts. A few favorite programs that I configured as "external editors" won't work on 64-bit, so I need to use other editors on that computer.

I frequently change color schemes on home computers. Preview of the next version – Vorschau der nächsten Version – Downloads – Downloads – Languages – FAQ –

I have a "toolbar" (whatever it's called) which I've customized. View topic - Translation Guide. How can you produce a new language for FreeCommander: Before you start with translation, make sure that someone else is not already working on the same translation.

To do that, please check this site and contact the author via e-mail. All available language files are in the installation file and have the extension LNG. If you want to produce a new language file, you should first copy an existing file and rename it, e.g. copy english.lng as french.lng. View topic - "Make file list and save as a file" button.

FreeCommander Alternatives and Similar Software.

View topic - Favorite Tool Program

In FreeCommander XE 2015 Build 680 public beta I have created a Favorite Tool that doesn't work. The tool is supposed to use robo- or Xcopy to copy folder structures. I use a bat file containing "robocopy %1 %2 /e /xf *". I have tested the bat file in a DOS box, using real folder names instead of %1 %2, and it works.

Via Tools>Favorite Tools>Favorite Tools edit I have added an item to an existing Favorites toolbar, "Links", Category <none>. FreeCommander. FreeCommander. There are some variables that FC supports that might be useful for relative paths support: %FcSrcPath% - FC's folder, where the main .exe is located%FcSrcDrive% - the drive where FC starts from%FcAppDataPath% - the folder where settings are saved%FcTempPath% - saves the current FreeCommander TEMP path. There are some settings you can manually add to the [Form] section of the FreeCommander.ini file: DosCommandBoxSpec=cmd.exe - define a new console programPathEditAutoCompleteSource=x - control path autocomplete 3. 4. Drag&drop a file to a program's icon in the favorite toolbar will open that file in that program, independent of the system's file association: Right click the Status bar to get access to a small menu to quickly change some settings: 6.

View topic - "Continuous" filename renaming. When you're in Detail View (don't know about the other views, I only use Detail), you can "slow click", which brings you in File Rename mode - but only for the file you happen to be on.

It would be nice to then be able to use the Arrow Up and Arrow Down keys to bring you to the previous or the next file in the list, and remain in Rename mode. Currently, the Up and Down arrows bring you to the end or the beginning of the filename. There are other ways to get there, so it would make sense to use these arrow keys for something new - such as this "continous renaming mode". Directory Opus is working like that, and it's actually a very practical feature when you're dealing with a lot filenames you want to rename. I think I am clearly on the record with my admiration and love of the freeware Windows file manager FreeCommander.

grand stream dreams: PowerUp Tip: FreeCommanderXE + Total7zip Plugin

I have lot & lots of additional alternative freeware file managers as well. Each has its own spin. Some are single EXE files and others have options to open a bazillion multi-pane windows. But I find I use FreeCommander almost exclusively. View topic - R520 - FC crashes when packing with Total7zip plugin.
