Cheatsheets and various quick reference guides are available for almost any type of software and language these days. Unfortunately they’re not always easy to find when you actually need them. This is why I decided to take some time to gather up as many as possible and share them with you here! Hopefully this can be a timesaver for you, along with teaching you a new trick or two.
Can you believe that the first published website is already 20 years old? Web design has come a long way since the first website was published by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991. This infographic is a peek at the evolutionary tale of web design, which is ironically still in its infant stages. Enjoy the infographic below and let your imagination wander. You might find yourself asking, “Where will web design be in the next 20 years?”

Startups Don’t Die, They Commit Suicide

http://techcrunch.com/2011/06/27/startups-don%e2%80%99t-die-they-commit-suicide/#f3a58c5815a566 Justin Kan is the founder of Justin.tv and Socialcam . You can follow him on Twitter here and read his blog here . Startups die in many ways, but in the past couple of years I’ve noticed that the most common cause of death is what I call “Startup Suicide”, a phenomenon in which a startup’s founders and its management kill the company while it’s still very much breathing. Long before startups get to the point of delinquent electricity bills or serious payroll cuts, they implode. The people in them give up and move on to do other things, or they realize that startups are hard and can cause a massive amount of mental and physical exhaustion — or the founders get jobs at other companies, go back to school, or simply move out of the valley and disappear. I’ll let you in on a dirty little secret: while building and iterating on Justin.tv (long before launching Socialcam), there were many times I came to the brink of packing it up and moving on from the company that bears my name.
In the fall I’ll be back from the FTC and teaching again. I want to draw on the wisdom of FtT readers to help me figure out what technology I should be using to present material to students in the classroom. It’s a lecture class, teaching security and privacy to a class of 175 students, mostly computer science majors.

Phish is such an underrated band. Sometimes I wish they were more popular. Why? This album. This album is amazing; not only does it stick to one genre, but Phish experiments with many different genres, such as country (“Poor Heart”), jazz (“Stash”), and alternative rock (“Llama”, “Tweezer”, and “Guelah Papyrus”), to name a few. Some of the tracks are really neat instrumentals too, which I find awesome. http://lyrics.wikia.com/Lyrics_Wiki

http://www.acquia.com/blog/new-front-end-design-stack-role-responsive-web-design Ethan Marcotte established the idea of responsive web design in his 2010 A List Apart article of the same title. Succinctly, responsive web design is device-agnostic content presentation . A responsive design looks great on a desktop monitor, a tiny phone screen or a large format display. This brief paper first details where responsive web design fits in the front end design stack.
