Un nom étrange pour un label qui ne l’est pas moins. 57 disques au compteur et pas un seul qui flirte avec le train-train musical. Il y a la puissance brute du noise d’ Headwar, les structures mélodiques affutées de Chocolat Billy, les provocations paillardes d’X-OR, le tango-punk de Radikal Satan... Yep, l’enseigne Potagers Natures attire et enregistre des frappadingues de tous horizons – un genre de mission sacrée. Comme tout bon micro-label qui se respecte, les Potagers fonctionnent sans assise financière ni plan de développement, à l’arrache.
Treize ans qu’ils sortent des disques et organisent des concerts à Bordeaux, à leur manière, sans se presser, sans thunes. Surtout, les Potagers fonctionnent en très petit comité : il y a Yann, le fondateur, qui gère le gros du boulot. Pour cet entretien, on s’est posés dans un troquet de Montreuil. This time it is the Royal 8E Makro. This search also brought about a new experience, namely bidding on an auction that was almost exclusively written in German. I finally stumbled across "eBay Germany" and discovered I could still use my username. Of course, the descriptions were entirely in German but thanks to a free translation tool on the internet I was able to figure out whether the camera descriptions stated if the camera worked or not. Actually, I had found two Royal's on the German eBay site, a Royal 10E and a Royal 8E Makro. I missed out on the Royal 10E as I felt I did not want to bid too high on my first foreign endeavour - it sold for under $100 though.
