Pinterest. How to Make your Stainless Shine. Addition: Hi y'all! I just have to say WOW, I can't believe the traffic that this post has been getting from pinterest, other bloggers, home improvement sites, and even personal recomendations. Thank you to everyone who has commented or emailed about this post.

I just have a few things I should add. - I don't clean my sink like this every day...this is for when I have a really dirty sink and it needs a good deep clean. When I just want a standard clean I just use vinegar and baking soda with boiling water to rinse it off. - This specific way to shine my sink was used after I had painted several rooms and rinsed dirty brushes in my kitchen sink. So there were paint splatters everywhere, hence the use of goo gone. . - I clean in a almost all "green" way, and I'm not bothered by the use of goo-gone.

. - To everyone who has a different cleaning method. So if you're the owner of a stainless sink {or any sink for that matter!} Supplies - Vinegar {In a spray bottle} - Baking Soda - Boiling Water 1. 2. Organize Your Whole House with One Trip to the Dollar Store. There are any number of excuses I can make for why I haven’t taken the time to organize our house: not enough time to do it all, don’t know where to start, organizational supplies are too expensive, etc. It’s easy to get discouraged and quit before I am even started. But the truth is, the supplies to get an entire house in order don’t have to cost a small fortune. Most of them can be found right at the local dollar store. To prove this to myself, and to you, I took a trip to my local Dollar Tree. The uses for some of the supplies are obvious; you use the drawer organizers to organize drawers and the laundry bags to hold dirty (or clean) laundry. I have compiled 100 ways you can organize your whole house using items from the dollar store. 1. 14. 19. 22. 26. 28. 35. 37. 40. 42. 49. 54. 58. 61. 63. 64. 66. 69. 74. 78. 80. 82. 83. 86. 88. 90. 91. 94. 97.

I was feeling a little extra OCD the other day as I browsed the aisles of my local dollar store. I stumbled upon a great selection of organizing stuff – tubs, little bins, etc. Lots of the containers were in teal, and since I have been wanting to incorporate teal as an accent color in the upstairs bathroom… I bought about $20 worth of organizing supplies and went to town! Ok, ok. I cheated a little bit. I bought one item from Michaels – a large basket on sale for $10. I filled the basket with extra towels (while simultaneously freeing up a TON of space in our bathroom closet). Prepare for a gratuitous cute dog picture in 3… 2… 1… Please, someone, explain to me why he was indifferent to all of the organizing.

OK, on with the organizing… Next, I tackled the bathroom closet with various bins and baskets. Items like sheets and hand towels went in these cute teal baskets. I found labels here, from Worldlabel.com. Next, I emptied my chaotic make-up drawer, with the hope of restoring order. Under The Kitchen Sink Organization. Do you have areas in your home that no matter what you do they seem to just collect clutter? Well, that is how it has been under my kitchen sink for way too long, and I decided to do something about it! I keep cleaning products, paper towels, & garbage bags under my kitchen sink. Here is a before picture, just to show you what a cluttered mess it was. I turned it black and white so it is a bit easier on the eyes! You are welcome. I took a trip to our local dollar store to buy some containers. I have been on a recent kick of making my own homemade, chemical-free cleaners, so I picked up some spray bottles & scrub brushes.

Those green dish clothes are great. I mounted an inexpensive tension rod to hang my soon-to-be homemade cleaners. I used the containers to hold the dish clothes, scrubbers & to corral my different cleaning products. I am super excited to have this area organized. Dryer Lint Cleaning Tips - Article: The Family Handyman. Built-up lint inside dryer cabinets causes more than 15,000 fires every year. Lint escapes through tiny gaps around the edges of the dryer drum and falls into the cabinet, especially when the exhaust vent or vent cap is clogged and airflow is restricted. The lint can get ignited by electric heating elements, gas burners or even a spark from the motor, and the flames then travel through the lint-lined exhaust vent. To make sure this doesn't happen in your house, check the exhaust vent and the inside of the cabinet frequently. To clean the exhaust duct, shut off the gas and unplug the dryer, then pull the dryer away from the wall and disconnect the duct from the dryer. Use a brush and a vacuum to remove the lint in the duct.

If you have a flexible duct (especially the plastic type!) To clean inside the dryer, unplug it and turn off the gas, then open either the top or the front. Brush and vacuum under the drum and at the top and back of the dryer. Finally, reassemble the dryer. 15 ways to use vodka. Helpful Kitchen Tips and Tricks | My Organized Chaos. "One Good Thing" by Jillee: Homemade "Clorox" Wipes. Today, my journey to find cheaper, natural, and BETTERalternatives to the cleaning supplies I use in my home presented me with a showdown with what has been, up until now, one of my best cleaning allies…Clorox Wipes. There are a lot of reasons why I liked these little gems.

The main reason being that I like being able to grab a cleaning wipe whenever I need one. I don’t want to have to fill a sink or a bucket with water and add cleaning solution to it, and I’m not crazy about spray cleaners. I also have issues with rinsing, dipping and wringing out the same rag over and over (often in the same dirty water) until you are done. (I have the same issue with mopping the floor….but that’s a pet peeve for another day.) That’s what I LIKE about Clorox wipes. So today I’m breaking the Clorox wipes habit and embarking on a new cleaning experiment. Next I got an empty baby wipes dispenser that I had been saving for just this project and threw them all inside. From left to right: Farewell old friend.
