Cette série narre les péripéties d'un groupe de personnes essayant de survivre dans un monde peuplé de morts vivants. Le projet initial de Robert Kirkman s'intitulait Dead Planet et l'histoire était plutôt basée sur un scénario de science-fiction évoquant une épidémie de zombies. Pourtant, Kirkman décide finalement de baser son scénario sur les seuls zombies afin de créer une histoire sans fin[1]. Pour convaincre les responsables d'Image Comics, peu convaincus par l'idée d'une histoire de zombies d'adhérer à son projet, Kirkman leur promet d'incorporer des éléments de science-fiction plus tard, au milieu du récit. Le lancement de la série, en fin d'année 2003, se fait dans l'anonymat le plus complet. The Walking Dead se déroule dans un monde envahi par les morts-vivants.

Un parc d’attraction rempli de rôdeurs ouvre ses portes le 4 juillet aux Universal Studios d’Hollywood ! I will attempt to outline the facts in this article and the next, and reserve my opinion until the end. I dug through my stacks of The Walking Dead graphic novels, and there it was! Issue #75.
