The 12-track live album, A Treasure includes songs – 5 of which are previously unreleased -- recorded during Young’s 1984 and 1985 U.S. tours without the support of an album or Young’s then record label due to unique and unusual circumstances.

Among those, “Grey Riders” will be the first track serviced to radio. A Treasure features Young’s onstage work with some of the greatest artists in the history of country music, including the late, great Ben Keith on steel and slide guitar and Rufus Thibodeaux on fiddle, along with living legends Spooner Oldham and Hargus “Pig” Robbins on piano, Tim Drummond and Joe Allen on bass, and Karl Himmel on drums, among many others. A Treasure is Young’s first release since last year’s Grammy- and Juno Award-winning album, Le Noise. The live album captures this iconic artist during a fascinating time in his career, when he was facing criticism and lawsuits from his then current record company for exploring a more traditionally country sound. Biography[edit] Without graduating from high school, Nesmith enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1960. He completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, was trained as an aircraft mechanic at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, and then was permanently stationed at a Strategic Air Command base near Elk City, Oklahoma.

While in the Air Force, Nesmith obtained a G.E.D. and was discharged under honorable conditions in 1962. He enrolled in San Antonio College, a community college, where he met John Kuehne (later to be known as John London) and began a musical collaboration. The duo won the first San Antonio College talent award, performing a mixture of standard folk songs and a few of Nesmith's original songs. When The Monkees TV series ended in 1968, Nesmith enrolled part-time at UCLA and studied American History and Music History. Phyllis's third child, and Nesmith's fourth, daughter Jessica, was born in September 1970. Career[edit] Joni Mitchell. She is the sole record producer credited on most of her albums, including all her work in the 1970s.

Joni Mitchell

With roots in visual art, she has designed her own album artwork throughout her career. A blunt critic of the music industry, she quit touring and released her 17th, and reportedly last, album of original songs in 2007. She describes herself as a "painter derailed by circumstance. "[6] Mitchell has deeply influenced fellow musicians in a diverse range of genres, and her work is highly respected by critics. Early life[edit] Joni Mitchell was born Roberta Joan Anderson on November 7, 1943, in Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada, to Bill and Myrtle (née McKee) Anderson.

In Maidstone, a "two-block, one church, one hotel town," Joni's family lived without indoor plumbing and running water. The Lovin' Spoonful. The Kingston Trio Store. ArloNet. AllMusic. Uncut Editor's Diary. Home - Maverick.
