This same exploit was earlier discovered independently by geohot, who left jailbreak community a few months ago. pod2g found a new bootrom exploit to jailbreak iOS 4.1 yesterday and early today Musclenerd confirmed that iOS 4.1 Bootrom exploit works flawlessly on new iPod touch 4G, iPhone 4 and on iPad as well as all of them has the same IBoot-574.4 Those who don’t know, Bootrom exploit, which is unlike userland exploit JailbreakMe is a low level-bootrom exploit, that can’t be fixed by Apple without a new hardware release of iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad and the iPod touches with new bootroms.

As being new to my ipod touch and reading up on some of the cool apps available on the jail broke version, i thought id give it a try... Last night i tried out the Ziphone v2.6b (quite recent... as v1.1.4 has only been cracked for a short while) Anyway, half way through it piling the iphone with lots of white text, it came up with an error message (to hand i cant remember, will find out in a bit) At this point i was bit conserned and attempted to restore it... Which is where i find out Itunes wont recognise it to restore back to original! I am currently at work and havent tried what u guys have offered: 1.Make sure iPod is completely powered off. 2.Hold the home button while its off. 3.While holding the Home button, connect the cable. I am really hoping this will work.. its a reet bugger this happened only a week after buying it... me n her havent been properly aquanted yet lol Andy.

EDIT2: Fixed! Custom iPod Boombox Boom Box. Yeah, I know there are TONS of items out there that let you plug in your iPod on the road. However, anything that is any good will cost AT LEAST $100 (probably much more). Instead, re-purpose an existing product save lots of money, have fun making it and stop global warming :P A while back the folks at Sirius radio teamed up with JVC and came out with a boom box for their KT-SR2000 Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner.
Well I guess the idea didn't work out too well and you can now find these Boom Boxes on a number of places on the web for $20 - $40. I am not the first one to come up with the idea of using these for iPod use but there is no published COMPLETE "hack" or instructions for doing this (There is ONE website which published one but IMO the instructions were limited and had a couple of critical mistakes).
