I have seen many interesting projects and especially one : GOBI ! Why have I been so interested in this project ? Because it speaks about WATER and since my project LifeDrop, I am interested about this issue. GOBI is a new way to drink outside. Created in 2010 by Gobilab with the designer Cédric Ragot, GOBI answers to the question : how to reduce water consumption waste ? Gobi is a portable and reusable water bottle associated with a mapping of water points available on the Internet and mobilephones (Iphone, Androïd, Windows Phone). Gobi. The new way to drink water.

And above all, Made In France. It’s interesting as an American living in Paris to read about this “new way to drink water”, when in the US, people have been toting around reusable water bottles, including the Nalgene (classic), Sigg (hip and durable), and more recently, innovative designs like Vapur‘s foldable “Anti-Bottle”, for decades. But it’s true that in France, people do not carry reusable water bottles.

But they drink a LOT of water. So Gobilab’s got the right idea in assuming that they can make a huge impact with the Gobi concept. The Gobi water bottle. The design of the Gobi underwent an eco-conception program that lasted months, to evaluate the environmental impacts of the lifecycle of the product, including all facets from fabrication to packaging. The result: A sleek water bottle that is: The Gobi is manufactured in France. Gobilab Hold-up @ La ruche. Digest. ( french content ) Gobilab: Why don’t we change the way we drink water?

Gobilab: Why don’t we change the way we drink water?

And it’s bad for our purses, too! Yes, but what alternatives do we have? Can we really change our habits in terms of water consumption? It’s exactly what Gobilab offers! Samuel Degrémont, one of the three founders of Gobilab with Xavier Moisant and Florence Baitinger, kindly welcomed us in « La Ruche » (the French co-working space dedicated to social and environmental innovation) and showed us his invention, the Gobi… Gobilab : what is it exactly? Gobilab is the result of research in on various fields. The result: an eco-conceived model, smart and useful, perfect to replace our small plastic bottles. Gobi … What are the assets? Much more than a simple flask with a nice design, Gobi offers many advantages. Why is it a real change?
