Knitted Bunnies « Jo so and sew. This bunny is so simple as it is made from a knitted square – any size is fine.

Knitted Bunnies « Jo so and sew

(This one is in 8ply wool on 4mm needles and 28 stitches across.) With the same coloured wool (I have used contrasting wool here so you can see more clearly) and a very big running stitch – stitch across the middle of the square (fold in half if you want to be accurate.) Make sure you have a secure knot at the end as the thread will be pulled later. Knitted Bunny tutorial - Step 1 Then stitch up into one half of the square to make a triangular shape – as in the picture Knitted Bunny tutorial - Step 2 As you start to pull this thread you can see the head and ears of the bunny start to form.

Knitted Bunny tutorial - Step 3 Before you pull it too tight – push in some stuffing (I have used pure wool here but you could use polyester) Knitted Bunny tutorial - Step 4 Pull the thread tight and make a couple of stitches through the hole to secure. Quick Cable Slouch Hat. This is a pattern I had made to teach my student how to make her first cabled hat, so I made sure it was not intimidating.

Quick Cable Slouch Hat

Very quick to knit, so great for gifts. I have used a bulky alpaca yarn so it had a fair drape and a pom-pom was too heavy, but it may work better if you use wool. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++*Note*I have originally posted and recommended size #10 needles for the body, but it seems like many people have been getting a less slouchy result. If you want to get a slouchy hat for sure, it might be better to use size #11 for the body. I don't have a specific gauge, but the fabric for the main body should be somewhat loose and have a bit of a drape. Materials Needed: US7 or 8 for Brim US10 or 11 for Body (NOTE : I had used #8 and #11, and the body was pretty big so I felted down a little.

For either, DPN, fixed 16" Circular, Using 32"+ needles to work in Magic loop is your choice. I used Cascade Yarns Baby Alpaca Chunky. I am growing my hair a bit longer, and have taken to putting it in a short ponytail when busy working on my stuff.

Quick I-Cord Headband

I like the look of those skinny headbands, especially when worn in twos or threes. I bought some in the past but found they were SO tight, they slipped back and hurt my head! So I dove into my stash and found some leftover Esprit (cotton with lycra stretch) in black. The pattern is easy: Yarn: stretchy worsted weight (suggested knit on 4.5mm needles) Needles: two 4mm *double point needles* (or one size smaller to make a tight cord that still stretches) Cast on 4 stitches: Knit across row. Repeat I-Cord stitch until the length is about one inch short of length to go around head (without stretching) then bind off and stitch ends together. I will make a few more of these, in several colours.

The Addictive Baby Blanket « Ribbed For Your Pleasure. Designed by solmama April 2009 After knitting Mimi Davis’ One Row Blanket De La Harlot and finding out that a good number of my friends have babies on the way, I was inspired to write my own baby blanket pattern.
