Getting started Ready to begin? Good!
Advice Seeker: Dear April Masini , I've been dating my girlfriend for five months and I'm stumped about what to give her (and how much I should spend) for special occasions and holidays. Do you have any advice on gifts that are appropriate for different stages of a relationship?
I have a confession to make… I still have not started my Christmas shopping. Having said that, I’m guessing that many of your out there are just like me, waiting for the last week before Christmas. :) As a gentle reminder to myself, I’ve compiled a list of gift ideas for the holiday season. These ideas are not limited to just Christmas, but for all occasions. I hope you may benefit from this list as well. The list is broken down into several categories: Unique Gifts Gifts that Touch the Soul Books that Change Lives Alternative Wrapping Ideas
The first of these perfume categories is floral. Floral fragrances are so popular that they make up more than half of all fragrances available on the market. A floral fragrance is decidedly feminine and is characteristically connected to romance. There are a variety of floral fragrances available. Floral green perfumes are distinguished by items such as iris and galbanum. Floral fragrances that are also fruity offer blends such as cassis, pineapple, apricot, peach, and apple hints united with flowers.
I have been getting lots of emails from my readers asking about a good store to buy Fuller’s Earth, Pure Essential Oils, Butters and other skin care ingredients. From Nature With Love and Mountain Rose Herbs are unarguably the best stores that supply Natural and Organic Skin and Hair Care Ingredients for DIY Recipes. You can shop for Pure Essential Oils, Carrier Oils, Facial Clays, Exotic Butters (to make your own Lip Balms, Lotion, Cream and Body Butters), Herbs, Soap and Candle Making Supplies , Books , Packaging Supplies and so much more.
Hi Nimue, Honestly, I'm a little bit addicted to Essential Wholesale's samples -- the only thing that stops me is expensive shipping since they only use UPS. I mostly buy from their Bulk Cosmetics (the premade stuff) since I'm not fully into DIY yet. I get my Rosehip Seed Oil and Tamanu from them (the samples are 1 oz. size). I like their Supreme Facial Serum as well as the Vit C, though I can't say I've noticed outstanding results from it...
For years, we've been DIY'ing...our bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. Italian plaster and wood flooring from Home Depot, designer fixtures from Tuesday Morning, luxury cabinets from Lowe's, Talavera tile from a local importer (may be specific to Santa Fe--but I doubt it). We're willing to spend more time to save money . I ask you: why don't we practice this same frugal practicality when it comes to our skin care? We've just handed over our precious beauty to so-called experts. Seriously, do we really trust those famous, celebrity-endorsed "dermatologists" to formulate our most beloved skin care products?

Posted on November 5, 2010 by Dawn Michelle in Minimalist Lifestyle , Style In I’m Not Buying Fashion Magazines Anymore I wrote about why I was going to leave the shiny fashion books in the store from now on. It’s mainly so I won’t have to constantly clear them out every few months, and because I love fashion more than trends. I believe the two get intertwined in ways that they shouldn’t. Fashion is quality creative designs that can be worn no matter what is going on in style trends.
