I’ve had some extremely dry skin for a couple of months now.

Vanilla Body Butter

I have resorted to a long list of natural oils, lotions, scrubs, and other remedies in an effort to assuage the flaky situation. You might remember seeing the recipe for Brown Sugar Vanilla Body Scrub, which was largely successful in aiding my poor arms and shoulders. After using an entire jar of this delicious-smelling scrub, I decided I needed to make a body butter to go along with it.

So, of course, Vanilla Body Butter was born. It smells AND looks pretty much like cake icing. So easy to make, and with no yucky chemicals, who wouldn’t love this stuff!?! Vanilla Body Butter Ingredients *Use scant measurements of each, since whipping this mixture makes it fluffy and won’t quite fit into a one-cup jar. Happens to me all the time, but usually it's while I'm in the school pick-up line or even at school and one of my Mom friends reminds me about something. And often, someone asks me about my shop and I need more room to write than I have on the back of a business card. For our Filofax Friday this month, I want to share with you a Notepad Tutorial. My friend and partner in this monthly feature, Francine, shared with me this tutorial when I mentioned looking for a side-gummed notepad. DIY Notepad Tutorial Different Filofax planners have different configurations and numbers of pockets and locations of those pockets. No luck in finding one, so I decided to try my hand at making my own. Design your notepad in your favorite word processing program. And here's how the notepad looks in my Personal sized ochre Malden. Boni Lonnsburry makes it possible, first, to grasp the astonishing fact that we create our own reality (yes, all of it). She then guides us in proven ways to work with that incredible truth to manifest both the cash and prizes of life, and the even more meaningful satisfaction and peace that attracted them in the first place.” – Victoria Moran, author of Creating a Charmed Life. "hidden storage" books. We have a lot of books - many of which we haven't read.

"hidden storage" books

We collected a lot of pretty hard cover books for the wedding (we used them with our center pieces) and they have been sitting on our open shelving for the past 10 months. DIY Pebble Shelf -$1store craft. I made this simple pebble shelf for my apartment bathroom to complement the earthy feel.

I've seen it done with river stones, so why not pebbles? Supplies:Place mat or shelf linerPebbles or river stonesE6000 glueTIMEFair warning: this craft project is inexpensive, but time consuming. First, I measured the shelf I needed to cover and cut my place mat to match. Then, using all of my patience, I began gluing stones in a mosaic pattern, working outward from the center, until the mat was covered. It is NOT conducive to work inward.

I saw it online...got really excited...bought the supplies...and made a bunch of them. Easy quote art. I've really been itching to make some wall art for our house lately.

It might be because of of these little dinosaur pictures or this flower picture... but whatever the reason, I got crafty and ended up with this little guy: It's only a 6x6 wood frame [which is good - because it's just the right amount of "cheesiness" for our home]. The quote is from a small exert of our wedding ceremony where we planted a tree [which is now out front of our house]. We love it. Anyway, back to the picture. Date night scratch-offs. Doily votives. Dana from Let's Meet For Lunch is back today to share another cool diy project.

Remember the flower picture she shared last time? Really fun and versatile. This project is just as fun and can be used for a variety of spaces and occasions. Chalkboard clipboard. Custom Laser Engraved Buttons by WearhouseIndustries. Crochet Rug from T-shirts. I’ve seen a lot of crocheted and woven and braided rugs out on the internet; it was even one of the first things I pinned to Pinterest, but I never got around to trying one of my own until now.

I always thought it was going to be difficult, but actually, it’s really quite easy, and no fancy instructions needed! Here’s how I made my own crochet rug from repurposed t-shirts! Step 1. Acquire fabric. In this case, I used XXL men’s t-shirts from Goodwill. Step 2. The basic idea is that the shirt is already in the round, so you’re cutting a continuous strip from the bottom hem up to the armpit. Step 3. Step 4. I used the largest crochet hook I had on hand, which was a size Q and started with 6 SC in the first round, doubled it to 12 in the second round, and slowly increased by multiples of 6 beyond that. "I'm His Mrs." Wedding Signs. Another shower, another homemade gift! This time it was for my good friend Lara, who is getting married in May. She has such beautiful plans for her wedding, with a lot of attention to detail, so I thought I’d help her with some of the more DIY-able details.

Here’s the Pinspiration – a sign for the back of her chair: After some discussion on color, font and “how do you want it to look”, the consensus was “Just Like That”. Alrighty then. Paint swatch notebooks. Knit cactus. Family yearbooks. Gray Cutlery Wall Art.
