A day in my pouch. Yesterday in post weight loss surgery eating... Breakfast: Well I woke up to a busted water heater. We thankfully caught it before too much damage was done, water was confined to the garage but uggggh grrrr #&$%ity, #&$% #&$% #&$%! I spent a good part of the morning making phone calls and then waiting for call backs so I had time to make a batch of my Pancake Bites. I couldn't make up my mind what kind I wanted the original sausage, the bacon, or the fruity version.

So I made all three. Shelly's Pancake Bites 1/2 cup Multigrain Pancake Mix, dry1/3 cup Soy Milk (any milk would do)1/4 cup Torani Sugar Free Caramel SyrupAssorted Toppings: Cooked Sausage, Crumbled Cooked Bacon, Fruit (I used frozen blueberries but banana slices or apples are yum too) Mix pancake mix, milk, syrup together till thoroughly combined. Top each muffin with sausage, bacon or fruit. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes or until golden. Lunch: One of my easy go-to favs: Shrimp and Cocktail Sauce. Saute mushrooms till golden. Who likes saving money?

Ok, so I'm all about saving money. I mean who isn't right? Anyhow, in the interest of saving money here is my first money saving post! Oatmeal is cheap, its healthy and all that jazz, right? But why pay $2.50 (Walmart) for 10 packets of that name brand guy when all you are getting is about 2 1/2 cups of oatmeal! DON'T DO IT AGAIN! Lol Here's what you need: Take a big thing of oatmeal (make sure to use the quick oats, mine was 42 oz I went and checked, haha) $3.78 at my local Wal-mart in Texas a box of snack-sized Ziplocks (or whichever brand you prefer) a 1/4 c or 1/2 c measuring cup (I did mine 1/2 c but my kids are 8 & 11 and then there is my hubs, the pre-made packets are only about 1/4 c so if you have itty bittys you can just do the 1/4 c)a few spare minutes (probably took less than 10 minutes) And here's how I put mine together, feel free to add in what you and your family like:

Zucchini Tots. Getting your family to eat their veggies can often be difficult. Well these kid-friendly zucchini tots are the perfect solution! Make them in mini muffin tins for the perfect little side for breakfast or dinner! I found this recipe on the Two Bite Club which I slightly adapted and they turned out great. My husband who is not a huge fan of zucchini loved them and they disappeared quick. I know what you're thinking, another zucchini recipe? A few of my favorites are Zucchini Enchiladas (perfect for meatless Mondays), Chicken Rollatini Stuffed with Zucchini and Mozzarella, Zucchini Pizza Bites and last week's Sausage Stuffed Zucchini Boats.

Beautiful Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Wreath & The Inspiration Behind It All Steelmom.

While watching videos for the new Kraft Cooking Creme, at the Real Women of Philadelphia, I came across this recipe I found so intriguing. The RWoPer that inspired me to make this wreath is known as "Steelmom". For me, her nickname has always been perfect for her, since she is someone I admire for being a hard working mother inside and outside of the home. She must be made of steel to do all that she does, working full time as a sales representative for a steel mill, raising a family, and not to mention creating the most beautiful hand painted ornaments. Her wonderful recipe and how to video for her Santa Fe Breakfast Ring can be found at the link below. Recently I have been on a mission to clean out my pantry and avoid buying new ingredients. Ingredients: 1 can of Pillsbury Crescent dough 8 count (we use reduced fat but regular is fine too) 5 large eggs (we use cholesterol fat free egg product) 1 cup of shredded Colby and monterey jack cheese (we use 2% reduced fat cheese)

Traditions. I love figuring out new traditions to make with my own little family. I definitely found one for General Conference on Sunday morning. My sis-in-law (SIL) Dana was telling me about how often she goes to my friend Hannah's blog and tries out her recipes. She was telling me about all the yummy ones she has tried, including the sticky bun breakfast ring and told me I had to try it. So I decided this morning was the best time to make them while I had the LDS General Conference playing in the background. Let me just say WOW! My Aubri said while eating her sticky bun, "these are so yummy mom! " If you haven't already, you need to check out my beautiful and talented friend Hannah's blog! **If you aren't on Pinterest yet, please let me know and I'll send you an invite. Here is the recipe with my results in pictures: (hopefully it tempts you to try it!)

Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring 2 small tubes refrigerator buttermilk biscuits OR 1 tube Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits 3 Tbsp. butter, melted. Customizable Bread Bowl Breakfast. Perfect Pairing: Refrigerator leftovers Recently I had a wonderful winter retreat with some of my very best girlfriends at my family’s lake house. There was a lot of chatting, sipping wine, and relaxing. We each took charge of a couple of meals and ate really well over the weekend. I wanted to do something fun and different for one of the breakfasts and came across an idea for eggs in a bread bowl. Not only were these guys delicious, they were completely customizable.

I laid out all of the components and let everyone go to town with their creations. I recommend using a crusty French bread roll for this recipe. The Perfect Pairing for this recipe is whatever you have leftover in your refrigerator! I will definitely be making these again! Customizable Bread Bowl Breakfast Lindsay at Perfecting the Pairing Ingredients: · 8 crusty bread rolls · 2 Tb butter, melted · Salt and pepper · Assorted fillings* · 8 eggs Directions: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Breakfast Stuffed Portobellos | What's Cooking Mexico. [donotprint]I love to stuff portobello mushrooms. Their shape and size are perfect for that and it’s just so much fun. Grab a portobello, clean it up, season it, stuff it and cook it. How easy is that? My favorite produce vendor at my local market had some beautiful portobellos the other day and I couldn’t resist getting a package of six.

I made two into soup, two more I stuffed with ground beef but I didn’t know what to do with the last two. So yesterday morning I decided to experiment something new and this delicious and easy to make breakfast came up. [print_link] ¡Buen provecho! Sounds good to me! Buttermilk Blueberry Breakfast Cake. I swear buttermilk is magic. I’ve dwelled on this before. Buttermilk seems to turn everything to gold. Super-moist, super-delicious gold. Anyway, I needed a simple, summery, breakfasty, cake-like-but-not-dessert-like recipe to make this morning. One of Ben’s friends had crashed here last night, and I thought it only appropriate to treat him to a proper breakfast.

In other words, I was craving sugar and carbs. Nobody. French Toast Bake. Last weekend I made a French Toast Bake for a bridal shower brunch. I love this recipe because it is so easy (Fia could do this by herself), economical (most expensive ingredient was the Texas Toast at $2), & oh-so-delicious! The best part is that it is made the day before so there is no fuss on the day you consume it....perfect for a Sunday afternoon or brunch. This food post will be step-by-step as I take you through the entire recipe with me...as I like to make my own tweeks & people get mad at me for not telling them EXACTLY what I did. *My additions to the recipe will be in red* Before I begin....I must note that I was making a double batch (two 9 x 13 pans) so the pictures have double the ingredients. ** For those who are not familiar with Texas Toast, it is thickly sliced bread.
