Curiosities: San Fransisco Toothpick Sculpture
Rolling Through the Bay is an abstract toothpick sculpture of San Francisco built by artist Scott Weaver out of about 100,000 toothpicks. Several happy-face ping-pong balls roll through the sculpture which took him about 34 years to complete.
This photograph by Bernardo Malfitano illustrates the fact that a jet can pull so many G's and go so fast that it can form water vapor behind it and that, during rare times, that water vapor forms extremely brief rainbows.
