The politics curriculum represents four major fields of political science in the United States: political theory, American politics, comparative politics, and global politics.

The New School (NSSR)

Graduate students are trained in these fields, especially at the PhD level, through departmental field seminars and field examinations. Research and teaching in politics at The New School for Social Research are informed by historical, comparative, and theoretical frameworks that bring people together across these fields.

Historical knowledge and understanding provide an indispensable base for judgments about contemporary issues and problems. That big political questions have important comparative referents is taken for granted. As political life entails concerns about cultural horizons and forms of inequality, students are encouraged to learn and use a wide range of theoretical approaches, including feminist thought, critical theory, and cultural studies. Required Courses MA SeminarRequired for all MA candidates. Funding Opportunities. The Office of Academic Affairs administers institutional scholarships, fellowships, and assistantships at The New School for Social Research and also advises students seeking external funding.

Student Financial Services offers a comprehensive program of financial services for all matriculated students, including institutional scholarship support to eligible students on the basis of merit and need and information and assistance with U.S. government loan programs and work-study. The school awards scholarships on an annual basis. The fellowship and special scholarships application deadline for new students is January 15; the scholarship application deadline for continuing students is March 1. THE HOLY FOOLS (MUTE MIX) by Richard Barbrook

Because this new technology symbolises another period of rapid change, many contemporary commentators look back to the stalled revolution of thirty years ago to explain what is happening now. Most famously, the founders of Wired appropriated New Left rhetoric to promote their New Right policies for the Net. [2] Within Europe, a long history of class-based politics and compulsive theorising makes such ideological chicanery seem much more implausible. However, this does not mean that Europeans are immune from embracing digital elitism in the name of Sixties libertarianism. Although these two philosophers were overt leftists during their lifetimes, many of their contemporary followers support a form of aristocratic anarchism which is eerily similar to Californian neo-liberalism.

The cult of Deleuze and Guattari is a prime example of this aesthetisation of Sixties radicalism.
