Home - Meine Homepage. Timmy2Tracks "Beast from the East" - Scale 4x4 R/C Forums. Braking, continued. Here is a picture of this DF previously, when I had electronics installed for testing. On the electric versions of the EV/DF-300, Kyosho has the steering servo top-side facing up. This routes the two long pull-bars which run form the steering servo, which is located at the back of the cat, all the way to the front of the cat where the brakes are located.

As you can see, there is not much room on the top deck to lay out your electronics. Here is a closeup of the brake upright (chrome tube with set screw on the top, and hole in the side) that the servo pull bar pulls on. I don't know why Kyosho did this (I ask myself this question many times why working on these Blizzards), because on the nitro version of the DF, there is no room for the brake bars on the top of the deck, so they run them underneath, flipping the steering servo "upside down". So, I purchased the nitro brake parts bag (X2) to convert the brake linkage to run under the top plate. Sabertooth 2X12 R/C regenerative dual motor driver. Sabertooth dual 12A motor driver for R/C New Features/Updates: 1 Amp Switching BEC - Can now power your receiver and multiple servos 12 Amp Continuous/25A Peak Power Rating - A redesigned power stage increases current handling capabilities Acceleration Ramping - Selectible by DIP switches.

Replaces the flip function. Sabertooth 2X12 R/C is a dual motor driver specifically optimized for use in radio controlled vehicles. Out of the box, it can supply two DC brushed motors with up to 12A each. This special R/C edition of our motor driver comes with options for exponential control, autocalibration and built-in mixing. Sabertooth is the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class. Sabertooth has a built in 5V Switching BEC that can provide power to a microcontroller or R/C receiver and a servo or two. Sabertooth's transistors are switched at ultrasonic speeds (32kHz) for silent operation. If you need more advanced control features, check out Sabertooth 2X12. Hi I've always wanted to build something with tracks and then I found this machine. I thought I would do my PB a little bit different than usual one is and will make passenger cab on it. Maybe in the future snow blower in the front. My PB is in 1:10 scale. 1:1 machine Passenger cab 1:10 beast Making tracks, I have done about 1500 holes and have a lot of to do Chassi almost done, needs only sprockets and springs for suspension.

But damn it takes so much time to do this thing, it will be a long build. Tell me what ya think and recommend electronic stuff! Herzlich Willkommen. RC Snowcats. Timmy2Tracks vs. the Kyosho Blizzard SR (now with dual 540's) - Page 3 - Scale 4x4 R/C Forums. We here in the Northeast had a nice, big Blizzard come thru. I received 3 feet of snow in about 12 hours, so plenty to play in, and properly give this SR a good running. The night during the storm, I ran thru a few packs... The next day, I had to move it... a few days later, we got some rain, and the snow got very wet, and very, very sticky. After running in the wet stuff... After some pushing snow, and climbing steep drifts, the motors and speed controller were cool to the touch.

Even though I don't like too, I ran the SR around on a 4S battery. After running for 2 batteries in this very, very sticky snow, look at the drive sprockets. More to come... Timmy2Tracks vs. the Kyosho Blizzard SR (now with dual 540's) - Scale 4x4 R/C Forums. Well, almost a year later and I can finally continue with this build. The snow will be here soon (i hope).

After ridding the SR of those horrible speed controls and skimpy wiring, the next huge disappointment with the SR is the whole motor/transmission situation. The stock motors are, well, cheap. They run alarmingly hot, and are anemic at best. Also, much like the electronics, the motors and transmission is certainly not "hobby grade", more like a department store toy level of quality. Plastic gears with no ability to install bearings, gears which ride on posts that are not supported on both ends, this mounted to a flimsy plastic motor plate, which is bolted to a flimsy plastic bottom chassis plate. Making metal gears with a whole new gearbox was just not cost effective. Which leads to this... Gumbajv, having used Integy 80 turn motors claimed that this was a design made for speed, since it is using this "direct drive" method. So, let the work begin. ...and make your new holes.
