Molière. Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, daha bilinen adıyla Molière (15 Ocak 1622 – 17 Şubat 1673) Fransız oyun yazarı ve oyuncu. Yaşamı[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir] Molière, sarayın döşemelerini yapan bir mobilyacı olan Jean Poquelin ile bir zengin burjuva ailesinin kızı olan Marie Cresse'nin oğluydu. Moliere annesini 10 yaşındayken yitirdi ve babası ile bağlantıları hiç sıkı değildi. Annesinin ölümünden sonra babası ile Paris'de o zaman yukarı burjuva sınıfından kişilerin evlerinin bulunduğu Rue Saint-Honoré'de yaşadılar. İlk okul eğitimini Paris'te yaptı ve sonra Paris'in en iyi okullarından Cizvit'lerin idaresinde olan "Collège de Clermont"'da[1] öğrenim gördü. 1641’de bu okuldan ayrıldı.

Haziran 1643de Moliere 23 yaşında iken birden babasının işini bırakmaya ve Paris'ten ayrılmaya karar verdi. Bundan sonra Moliere ve Madelaine Bejart 12 yıl sürecek bir gezici tiyatro hayatına başladılar. The social tensions leading to the English Civil War were reflected in English fashion, with the elaborate French styles popular at the courts of James I and his son Charles I contrasting with the sober styles in sadd or somber colours favoured by Puritans and exported to the early settlements of New England (see below).

Paris, circa 1700. French seventeenth-century grotesque costumes is a very rare series of fancy trade costumes by de Larmessin (or L’Armessin). L’Armessin family was a renowned French dynasty of engravers, printers, and booksellers active during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The suite of prints depict people in fancy dresses of different professions.
