Our Mission: Through networking and education, Midwifery Today’s mission is to return midwifery care to its rightful position in the family; to make midwifery care the norm throughout the world; and to redefine midwifery as a vital partnership with women.

Midwifery Today began solely as a magazine in 1986. Since then, we have grown into a business that publishes a quarterly magazine and produces a biweekly e-mail newsletter. In addition, Midwifery Today has produced and published many books—both print and e-books, offers numerous educational products, and presents domestic and international conferences.

No matter what endeavor we undertake, our goal is to actively promote midwifery and optimal birth everywhere in the world. The name of our business is also our motto: Midwifery is not a thing of the past, but a viable profession and, more than ever, the best choice for birthing mothers today and in the future. In addition, we seek to unify all birth practitioners. Our beliefs are clear: Birth Without Fear - Empowering Women to Make Informed Choices About Pregnancy and Birth. Choices in Childbirth. Choices in Childbirth is a non-profit organization that is a national leader in consumer advocacy and outreach for women and their families. At CiC we believe that every woman deserves a safe, respectful and deeply fulfilling birth experience. We help women make informed decisions about where, how and with whom to birth and ensure that they have access to the full range of birth options.

CiC constantly strives to improve maternity care across the country and to ensure that the birth of each child is treated with the reverence that it deserves. Who We Are Meet the board, staff, and volunteer committees behind the work that we do. What We Do We help women make informed decisions about where, how and with whom to birth and ensure that they have access to the full range of birth options. Doctors only deliver about 5 percent of babies born outside the hospital, according to figures released last month by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Depending on where you live, though, finding a licensed midwife can be tough. Midwives who are specially trained in delivery outside the hospital, called certified professional midwives, can only practice legally in 27 states. That is, they will be attended by one if they can find one. Contact Us - The Bump Blog. Mothering.com: Pregnancy, Babies, Natural Family Living, and More.
