Since the President signed the Department of Transportation’s Fiscal Year 2012 Appropriations Bill, H.R. 2112, on November 18th, 2011, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has received questions regarding its implementation of the blocking request options now available for the FAA’s Aircraft Situation Display to Industry (ASDI) and National Airspace System Status Information (NASSI) data feeds. This Q&A responds to some of those questions. Please note that the FAA has published a Notice of Interim Policy on Limiting Aircraft Displayed Via ASDI, which provides further information on the FAA’s recent program changes. You can find this notice at 76 Fed.
