Pretty pictures for each user account. What a nice thought on Microsoft’s part. The only trouble is – I want to create an administrator account, and not have others tempted to try getting into it while they are on my computer. When windows XP is not joined to a domain, it displays a welcome screen when it first boots: The welcome screen displays all of the local users on the system, except the built-in administrator account that was created during setup.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList Under this key you simply create a new DWORD value – the name matches the users name exactly, and the value is one of the following (Decimal format) 0 – Hides the user just from the welcome screen1 – The user is shown Before you start putting values in this key, I want to warn you. To hide the users I want, I browse to the registry key on my system: that’s all we need to do. Here’s the big question. Use any version of Windows 7 free for 120 days. Even better — if you know the secret — you can try out any version of Win7, from Ultimate to the lowly Basic, using a single install disc. I have MS Security, Logitech Keyboard, Roboform password manager, and that's about it in the system tray. I have been trying everything for months now, and still it sleeps (or hibernates, I am not sure which). I have used "powercfg -hibernate off" and when I run powercfg -A it shows hibernation is not enabled, so I think it is a sleep problem. The power on light blinks, the flash drive (which is usually lit) is dark. When I move the mouse or press the space bar, the hard drive light blinks, there is a loud click, then the system wakes up and the screen (which was dark with its power light blinking) comes back on. I have been using the same programs and not added any new ones for at least 9 months. I upgraded both this 32 bit desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 7 Ultimate and the same with my 64 bit laptop. For some reason, I was wondering if one of the MS updates may have started this problem.
