We used Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to identify factors (i.e., attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control) associated with the intentions of Western-Java small-scale broiler farmers towards implementing cleaning and disinfection (C&D), vaccination, reporting, and stamping-out without or with 50% compensation. For this, 203 Western-Java farmers were interviewed.The majority of the farmers had a positive intention to implement C&D (89%), reporting (88%), and vaccination (80%).

La nouvelle a éclaté dix jours à peine après l’annonce d’un cas mortel en Chine, ce dernier survenant à son tour quelques semaines après une révélation qui est allée jusqu’à semer l’inquiétude chez des gouvernements aux quatre coins des continents : Une expérience menée dans un laboratoire néerlandais a en effet donné naissance, l’été dernier, à un virus mutant de la grippe aviaire, très contagieux et mortel, capable de se transmettre entre humains. Et si cet "incident" passionne, depuis, la communauté scientifique du monde entier, les craintes d’une résurgence de l’épidémie sont désormais bien réelles. En Indonésie, pays qui n’avait vu aucune personne succomber du virus H5N1 depuis le 10 octobre dernier, le décès annoncé le 10 janvier a donc un écho retentissant.
