For Your Consideration: The 10 Most Devastating Episodes of the TV Season. By Dustin Rowles | Seriously Random Lists | June 10, 2013 | Comments (47 View The Primetime Emmys do not have a category for The Most Devastating Episode of the Television Season, but they should. Television has never been better at delivering sternum-obliterating gut punches, and showrunners have been remarkably good at hiding their fist right up until the knock-out blow. Television is no longer passive escapism; it's hard, y'all. Those bastards are finding fantastic new ways of pulling the rug out from beneath OUR SOULS. The Primetime Eligibility period is June 1st, 2012 through May 31,2013, but due to the "hanging episodes" rule, if a season runs a week or two into June, those episodes are also counted (therefore, last week's episode of "Got" will count toward this year's Emmy Awards).

Because I don't want to spoil you on any of the shows ranked, I won't provide a spoilery image, but do avoid the text for each entry if you're not caught up on the individual series. 10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. "Orphan Black": Not to be confused with "Orange Is the New Black," "Orphan Black" is probably one of the best new shows on television that you may not have heard of, but should start watching immediately because we're going to have to spoil a major plot point of the show. There's really no way around it. The series stars Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris, "Arrow" actor Dylan Bruce, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Evelyne Brochu and Kevin Hanchard. "Orphan Black" finished its first 10-episode season on BBC America in June.

Why we love it: Maslany is everything. That's not an exaggeration. Maslany does a phenomenal job of making each of the seven clones she plays on the show very distinct characters, complete with their own mannerisms and accents from British to Canadian to Ukrainian to American -- and that's just for the clones we've been shown in the first season of the show. (Part of OTRC.com's list of the 13 Best TV Shows of 2013) 9. "Sleepy Hollow": The show is a retelling of the short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" with a bit of an "X-Files" twist and supernatural and biblical elements. It stars Nicole Beharie, Tom Mison, Orlando Jones, Katia Winter, John Cho and Nicholas Gonzalez. Why we love it: Fans of the show most likely coined the super couple nickname "Ichabbie" for the two lead characters even before the pilot finished airing on the west coast. The chemistry between Lt. Spoiler alert! Also, there's just something about the way Ichabod says "lieutenant" that makes us wonder how Abbie isn't weak in the knees. There are some great comedic elements too, especially when Colonia America-era Ichabod tries to live in a digital world.

We can hardly wait for the remaining episodes see what Moloch's (the real demon bad guy) threat of Abbie's soul really meant. When does "Sleepy Hollow" return?
