Rubber Stamp Labelling. Rubber Stamp Materials. Rubber Stamp Materials There are several materials you will need to make a rubber stamp: Rubber Foam Wood Glue Parchment Acetone RUBBER You need rubber, and it has to be solid rubber, not foam. The two most common sources are erasers and rubber specifically intended for stamp carving. Some people use gasket material for plumbing fixtures which is dirt cheap at Home Depot, but it's very hard to work with and not recommended for the beginner.

The rubber needs to be flat on top and bottom, so a new eraser is called for. It helps to pick the right eraser, since many are crumbly or otherwise poorly suited. I'll describe the materials I'd recommend first, followed by the materials I would not recommend. If you have a Michael's, a Hobby Lobby or an A. ...and sometimes that clear cellophane-wrapped rubber is in a bag that can hang on a pegboard. (the label on the cellophane is still there, it's just on the back side) Speedy-Carve used to be called Speedy-Stamp. Yeah, I said oak. Navigate to:

Uzume's Crafty Goodness: How to Make a Japanese Paper Doll. I love making these little guys. I crafted a bunch using local paper during my stay in Japan, and I actually taught a group of Japanese university students to make them. I ended up teaching quite a few origami models while I was there, but this one was one of the most popular. The variations are infinite, once you understand the underlying concepts, so it's a good project to have under your belt if you like paper crafting. I use my ningyo (doll/s: literally "person shape") for art, but they can also be used for crafts like cards and bookmarks. First, a note on terminology. Kimono (literally "worn thing", written 着物) are an ancient form of Japanese clothes. There is a lot of history in this simple garment, and there are a lot of rules/guidelines.

Another rule: kimono lapels need to cross left over right. OK. You will need: Paper. Cut the cardstock into a neck and (at least kind of circular) head, as you can see in the picture below. Turn the paper white-side up, and glue the neck down. When Pigs Fly: How to Make Origami Paper Dolls - Version One. Aren't these little origami dolls sweet? Want to make some of your own? Follow my step-by-step tutorial and you'll soon have a whole collection of kimono dolls to decorate a scrapbook page, make a pretty greeting card, or attach to a gift package.

Have fun! A couple of things before we begin:I used "washi" (Japanese paper made of fiber so it has more of a cloth-like texture) for the boy doll. I used a paper pattern I got from Creative Park for the girl doll. I simply printed the pattern on plain old printer paper and cut it to size. It worked great, but if you have access to washi, I would certainly reccommend using it. An important Japanese cultural note: Please fold the Kimono layers as shown (left side first, then right side). Kneeling Origami Kimono Doll Assemble your materials: You will need: black crepe paper for hair - 1 piece cm x 2.5 cm and 1 piece 4 cm x 3.5 cm white cardstock for head - a circle about 2.5 cm across (the size of a quarter) paper for kimono - one 10 cm x 10 cm square. Stones/pebbles/gravel 2. Charcoal 3. Netting 4. Moss and soil 5. These are being built up in layers. For something a little different think about... Add only a small patch or island of moss and use stones for the rest of the terrarium. Make the ground undulating or sloped. Add some seeds for some little plants in your terrarium Add an animal (a plastic one) Stones/gravel should be added to fill about 1/4 of the jar. When your jar is done give it a squirt. 1-2 squirts at the end is usually enough. When building a Terrarium they say the magic ratio is 1/3 filled and 2/3 space. Things to remember There is the possibility that there will be eggs that may hatch in the soil or moss, if this happens pop the lid and let the little bugs out.

The soil and moss does have bacteria and miscroscopic animals, please wash hands after adding your moss. Clock kit. So, you think you want a reptile? Preface I frequently get letters and phone calls from parents whose kids, and adults whose partners or spouses, want a reptile. I get even more letters and phone calls from parents whose kids (or spouses) went ahead and got a reptile without realizing the full implications what they were getting into. In many cases, the reptile they got was unsuitable for them; in too many cases, a reptile was unsuitable, period.

These owners found, often too late, that the choosing and caring for reptiles is not as simple as it may appear. The Alien Factor With most reptiles, we are attempting to keep an animal with very specific environmental and dietary needs in an environment very much unlike its native habitat. Owners must spend a great deal of time-and money-working to keep their reptile's enclosure warm enough or cool enough, and dry enough or humid enough, or the reptile will sicken and die.

Basic Considerations Okay. How much money can you spend? How much room can you spare for an enclosure? Easy Crochet Rose Earrings - Dishin' With Rebelle. This tutorial explains 'Shepherds knitting', also known as Bosnian crochet. This is meant as a guideline rather than a pattern. You can decide what yarn you use, however use a hook that is at least 2 mm larger than the advised size for your yarn size. This stitch is made in the round, creating a tunnel. You can decide how large you want your work to be by amending the length of the chain you make in the first step. In deze tutorial leg ik de schaapherderssteek uit.

To begin with, make a chain that will be the circular basis for your shephers stitches. Maak om te beginnen een ketting van lossen om een rondje te vormen als basis voor je schaapherderssteek. Close with an ss. Sluit deze met een halve vaste. Insert the hook at the back of the 1st chain in the horizontal dash. Steek de haaknaald in de achterkant van de eerste steek, in het eerste horizontale streepje.

In depth examples and exercises for you to follow and practise. Practise images included so you can download, print and start colouring straight away. I thought I would write up a post about my personal views on copic markers in the hope to shed some light for those of you who are considering becoming ‘addicted’ to this fabulous colouring medium.

I say ‘addicted’ as I don’t know many people who begin playing with copic markers and not find they want to experiment and better their skill at colouring. How I began My love affair with copic markers began earlier this year. I found they were using a number of different mediums but that these ‘copic markers’ kept receiving comments of how amazing they are. I decided to buy what I thought were skin colours – E00 said ‘Skin white’ on the cap & R02 said ‘Flesh’ on the cap. So what is so good about copic markers compared to other markers? Ciao Markers Round Body Super brush nib Hair. Advanced Open Water Diver. The SSI Advanced Open Water program is different from most other organizations, as they require not only training but they also require diving experience. To be certified as a SSI AOWD one needs to have completed four specialty courses and minimum of 24 logged dives.

In the absence of a logged dives requirement, it is possible to become certified as AOW with some other agencies while having less than 10 lifetime dives. Scuba Diving International (SDI) offers an Advanced Adventure Diver course similar to the Advanced Open Water Diver Course offered by the Agencies noted herein. Background[edit] The whole PADI training system. The AOWD is now the second level qualification in the American system, following the Open Water Diver qualification (OWD). The European international dive education system, CMAS, recognizes only three main levels of dive education indicated by a one star, two star, or three star designation. Topics[edit] Issues[edit] [edit] Apertures: when to go small and when to go wide. One of the most common questions we hear from readers and new photographers is when to use wide apertures and when to use small apertures (see also some of the other 99 most common photography problems we get asked).

The source of the confusion around apertures often tends to be around the f-numbers. The smaller the f-stop (eg f/2.8) the wider your aperture will be, and thus let in more light. The bigger the f-stop (eg f/22) the smaller your aperture will be. Once you get your head around that numbering system it becomes much clearer and you will soon be using apertures confidently to achieve different effects. Below, the latest infographic in our photography cheat sheet series takes a closer look at why you would use small apertures and why you would use wide apertures.

We show an example of each, and also illustrate how your apertures look at each f-stop to give you a better idea of how much light you are letting into your camera. Minneapolis-darkroom.
