The victory over Man City on Sunday is still fresh in my mind but it's now time to move on as Arsenal have a Carling Cup game away to Newcastle tomorrow night. It's a competition in which Arsenal have played a mixture of youth and reserve players in the past but it would seem that they are treating it a little more seriously this time around. I expect that all the substitutes from the victory over Man City will be in the starting 11 and a few others will be added to them to make up the team. On looking more closely at the subs bench from that game on Sunday I was a little surprised to see Laurent Koscielny's name among them.

Après une victoire importante 2-1 face à Birmingham (voir l’analyse sur mon blog ), les Gunners se préparent pour la Ligue des Champions et la première partie de la confrontation avec le Shakhtar Donesk. Un match à domicile avant un difficile déplacement à Manchester City. Les Gunners sont actuellement 3 e au classement, à 3 points de… Manchester City. Une semaine importante donc, avec la gestion du calendrier et des blessés. Considéré jusqu’à récemment comme le 3 e gardien d’Arsenal, auteur de plusieurs piges la saison passée (dont un match énorme face à Fulham), Vito Mannone a été prêté jusqu’en janvier au club de Hull City, actuel 14 e de Championship.
With the Arsenal news thin on the ground yesterday, I decided to run through my thoughts on how the season has gone so far. I started with our goalkeepers and defenders, and today I'll attempt to give my opinions on the midfielders and attackers. To start with there's the only holding/defensive midfielder that Arsenal have in Alex Song. Last season Song stuck primarily to his defensive duties, and Arsenal fans very rarely saw him venture forward unless it was at a set piece.

Retour du championnat avec la fin de la trêve internationale. Les affaires reprennent avec la réception de Birmingham à l’Emirates. Pour le 800e match de Wenger à leur tête, les Gunners doivent plus que jamais assurer la victoire. Avec 1 pauvre point en 3 match de Premier League, il est temps de se racheter et surtout de ne pas rééditer la contre performance de West Brom. Pour son 800e match à la tête d’Arsenal, Arsène Wenger aimerait évidemment une victoire avec la manière. Mais pour cet Arsenal – Birmingham, on prendra à coup sûr la victoire même dans la douleur.

Yesterday seemed to be just like any other post international break Wednesday as we waited for news of returning Arsenal players and hoped they had managed to make their way back to the club in one piece. As I made my journey home from work on the train yesterday evening I saw a post from Gunneraddik saying that there were pictures on the club site of a certain Aaron Ramsey back in training. I immediately went to the club site and I was delighted to be able to view the pictures on my phone. C’est un avec un grand plaisir que je rejoins l’équipe Panenka, qui m’offre la possibilité de parler de ma passion pour le football et l’équipe d’Arsenal. J’aurai donc le plaisir de partager avec vous cette passion, bien évidemment dans le respect et surtout sans langue de bois (si, si, c’est promis)! Un grand merci donc à toute l’équipe pour son super accueil. Pour ma première, l’actu aura été relativement calme côté Gunners, parenthèse internationale oblige. The international break is well and truly upon us now and with it comes the usual lack of Arsenal news. Luckily I've still got a few things to write about and I'll do my best to keep it as interesting as possible. Firstly it was announced that four of Arsenal's games in December and early January will be shown live on TV which means that in all five games have had their date and time changed. The games away to "Manure", at home to Chelsea, away to Birmingham and at home to Man City have all been chosen for live transmission with date and time changes and the away game against Wigan had to be moved as well to give us a day off before we play them. All the exact dates and times can be seen on the club site but it is interesting that the "Manure" and Chelsea games are both at 8pm on Monday nights. Sky have regained the Monday night slot for this season and they must obviously have decided to put a few of the top notch games on Monday's.Wilshere vs Chelsea
