I will also be making a gown bodice pattern to go with it, as part of a full Victorian gown creation, inspired by a court gown of Empress Elizabeth of Austria. I drew up a quick sketch and some basic tips on LiveJournal in regards to corset pattern drafting. It’s not much, but for what it’s worth: I actually sat down with a chemical engineer friend to confirm the practicality of using a mathematical formula to determine the amount of hip-spring to draft into any corset.

http://www.kimberleypope.com/how_to_make_a_corset/Corset_Assembly_3.html Take all your lining panels 1-6 and sew them together, iron seems flat and place on to the inside of the corset, seems facing into the seems of the corset. Fold the back and front edges (1&6) in to correlate with your facings, once your happy iron flat for guidance. Sew the folded edges down onto the facing or alternatively invert the corset and lining and sew the facing to the lining (seems facing out) and then turn the corset inside out so that corset has all the right fabrics facing out, although this may be a little tricky, it may be worth pinning it first and then turning inside out to check that there is no tension and that you can actually turn it inside out!
