Guidelines for Applicants These guidelines are intended to help potential applicants identify whether their work is a priority for the Foundation and what we need to see in an application. Please read carefully through the first three Steps of our guidelines. If you are confident that your work falls within our priorities then go to Step 4 – How to Apply. If you are not sure whether your work fits with our priorities you can always contact the Foundation's office for advice. 533 new funds were set up in the year, with an average fund size of £95,000, and a total value of £50.5m - over a third more than in previous year. Community philanthropists continue to support local organisations despite austerity. Just 21% of new funds in 2010-11 came from the public sector, with 48% established by the private sector and the remainder coming from other sources.
