Koozai recently analysed the sites of the brands in the Forbes Top 100 to find out how they were performing. We devised a scoring system to identify the top 100 brands for Domain Authority and backlinks. The Koozai Score We created the Koozai Score by multiplying the Domain Authority by the number of links and then dividing this by 100 (what the domain authority is measured out of). This gives us an accurate reflection of the brands with the best number of links and Domain Authority. The results revealed something that we had suspected for a while, namely that Domain Authority is being severely underestimated, and in some instances not taken into consideration at all when defining a brand’s strength. Has SEO Changed? 11 Years in SEO

It seems a very long time ago now that I went to a chance interview with a web design company in Hampshire for a potential vacancy for a job I wasn’t even aware of. 11 years on and the rest, as they say, is history. As someone who has been totally self-taught throughout my online career, I’ve amassed some serious experience along the way. And when I look back at SEO eleven years ago, I can’t help but notice that whilst some tactics are no longer relevant, there are still some things we should be doing. SEO In 2004 Back in 2004 (before Koozai was born) when I first started, SEO was easier, hugely easier. Carrying out SEO was largely based around making sure the targeted term was included in as many fields as possible as often as possible. Tools were available that scored your SEO based on some amazing factors such as how many times you mentioned a term in certain areas.

The Many "Deaths" of #SEO Up Until 2015

A simple search on Google for “SEO is dead” generates no less than 42,600,000 results. Before we decide whether SEO is dead or not, we need to clarify what SEO really means. There are a lot of misunderstandings surrounding what SEO is about, which leads people on the wrong track. SEO Measurement Mistakes Part 2: 10 Google Analytics Gaffes

Today, I’d like to discuss a few common Google Analytics pitfalls we see when it comes to SEO. 1. Advanced SEO For Ecommerce: Maximizing Keyword Spread. Maximizing the search engine visibility of your eCommerce website, for qualified queries, is perhaps the most important role SEO has to play in selling products online. The idea of keyword spread is similar to an approach taken by stock options traders called a condor option; you are essentially increasing your keyword opportunities while lowering your overall risk. By spreading your search engine rankings for as many qualified keywords as possible you are exponentially increasing the probability that your site will be seen and hopefully visited. And to be fair (and clear) this strategy is not just for eCommerce, but for the purposes of this post I am going to focus on selling online, looking at websites that are effectively ranking for eCommerce intent keywords from head to long tail. The nuts and bolts of this concept is about making sure you position the right content, for the right time, for the right person.

URLs and SEO: Various Strategies for URL File Names

So I decided to start a new post summarizing and discussing various strategies for URL file naming. 1. Why do we care? URL is undoubtedly one of the most important aspects that affect both SEO and usability. It affects: Rankings (placing keywords in the file path is one of the most effective ways to make the keywords more prominent);Click-through: a “clear”, “readable” URL can be another reinforcement signal for the user to click it;Usability: a good “obvious” URL helps the user understand what the page is about even before entering the page. 2. There is no doubt that keywords in the URL matter (so far they even matter a lot). 3. My anti rankings. Digital Marketing Is More Than SEO. Wouldn’t it be nice to be told how long it will take to see your site sitting pretty at the top of a Google search for your money term…Or even how close you are to being top of the pops?

Wouldn’t it be more humane for someone to actually tell you that despite the fact you know that your site is the bee’s knees, it is never going to happen, that www.xyz.com is going to cling on to number one despite your 10 page champion? This post is going to tell you a little specifically about website optimisation, more about digital marketing becoming the necessary mind-set to adopt when marketing your website and it’s likely to infer (I’ll avoid saying it outright) to “gr**t content” now and again. The point of this post is to say holistic digital marketing is more than ‘just’ SEO and to try and break down the tunnel vision, the hell bent obsession with ranking number one for ‘blue widgets’; and the belief that organic traffic is the only goal because it isn’t.
