Greetings Developers, Yesterday, for the first time, we detailed out the framework for all open initiatives at MySpace through a new blueprint called the ‘MySpace Open Platform.’ The primary components of the MySpace Open Platform include: (1) Application Platform, (2) MySpaceID (Formerly Data Availability), (3) Post-To MySpace. Secondly, we announced two new MySpaceID (formerly Data Availability) global partners Vodafone and Netvibes—both of which are now building their implementations for MySpaceID. MySpaceID enables all global MySpace users to be in control of their social identity whenever they travel online.

L’ OAIS est un modèle conceptuel pour l’archivage de documents (numériques en particulier). Cela signifie qu’il constitue une référence décrivant dans les grandes lignes les fonctions, les responsabilités et l’organisation d’un système qui voudrait préserver de l’information, en particulier des données numériques, sur le long terme. Le long terme est défini comme suffisamment long pour être soumis à l’impact des évolutions technologiques, c’est à dire, pour ce qui concerne le document numérique, très court en fait. L’OAIS a été défini au départ dans le domaine aérospatial, par le CCSDS qui est l’organisme de normalisation de ce domaine. Aujourd’hui il est très largement adopté au-delà de cette communauté et il a été reçu comme norme par l’ISO sous le numéro 14721. Que fait / ne fait pas l’OAIS ?

One of the questions I often get from readers is if I could write a tutorial on how to create a certain logo. It’s something that I think is not very good material for a tutorial because it’s so very specific. The hard part is not the execution in Illustrator, it’s the design itself, the creative process. Then again I think certain parts are explanatory e.g. a logo made of letters you draw yourself using circles, simple shapes and lines of equal thickness. The technique I have in mind is something that only works for logo’s that contain only a few characters, ideally not more than 5. It also stands or falls with the characters at hand e.g. if o’s and other circular shapes are involved, than it can get interesting to try this technique out…
