He finished the Art School in Plovdiv in 1982 and graduated with excellence from the Bulgarian National Academy if Fube Arts in Sofia. Marin Gruev specialized in graphics in the class of professor Peter Chuklev in 1991. From 1995 to 2004 he worked as a part-time lecturer in Graphics in the Academy of Art in Plovdiv.
