The app, called EpicMix, is a cross between Nike+ and miCoach, which allow you to track your physical activities, and Gowalla, which rewards users for exploring new areas via its Trips feature. Like Gowalla, EpicMix rewards users with special pins for various accomplishments, such as being on the first chairlift of the day, or skiing a certain number of vertical feet over a designated period of time.

"Het is verboden dus waarom zou iemand dat doen? " Zo reageerde Trans Link Systems (TLS) in januari op het nieuws dat de OV-chipkaart definitief gekraakt is. Toen later bleek dat een gemanipuleerde OV-chipkaart een kaartjesautomaat van de NS plat legt, bepleitte de NS: “Ga niet zitten hobbyen, het is strafbaar. Hou er mee op. Betaal voor je reis, zoals het hoort.” TLS, de NS en het Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Milieu weigeren nog altijd het fundamentele probleem van de OV-chipkaart onder ogen te zien. De oproepen van de NS en TLS zijn simpelweg belachelijk, omdat de organisaties laten zien dat zij nog altijd niet werken aan een oplossing voor de ondermaatse beveiliging van de OV-chipkaart.
