Planets Align: Panerai Jupiterium - WatchWow. Making its appearance for the first time in Singapore from 13 December to 14 February 2014 is the Panerai Jupiterium.
This device is a planetarium-clock showing the position of the sun, moon and Jupiter with its four satellites, from the viewpoint of an observer from Earth. Specially created as a tribute to Galileo Galilei when he first spotted Jupiter’s four satellites in 1610, watch aficionados can appreciate real time movement of the planetarium-clock which reveals the actual positions of Jupiter. IRC+10216. Simulación computarizada del nacimiento de una estrella de neutrones. Hertzsprung–Russell diagram. An HR diagram showing many well known stars in the Milky Way galaxy.
The Hertzsprung–Russell diagram is a scatter graph of stars showing the relationship between the stars' absolute magnitudes or luminosities versus their spectral types or classifications and effective temperatures. Hertzsprung–Russell diagrams are not maps of the locations of the stars. Alcyone (star) Coordinates: 03h 47m 29.0765s, +24° 06′ 18.494″ The main star, known as Alcyone A, is a blue-white B-type giant similar to many of the other B-type stars in the Pleiades cluster.
It has an apparent magnitude of +2.87 (absolute magnitude = −2.39), and a radius almost 10 times that of the Sun.[5] Its temperature is approximately 13,000 K giving it a total luminosity that is 2,400 times solar. The spectral type of B7IIIe indicates that emission lines are present in its spectrum. La Luna eclipsada en la Vía Láctea. SIMBAD query result. Article 2 All aliens embarking on 9491 Thooft must be in the possession of: a visitor visa (V-1) if they stay there for a period shorter than a 9491 Thooft year. An immigration visa (I-1) for those who wish to take permanent residence. A fly-by visa (F-1) is required for manned and unmanned spacecraft that wish to enter the territorial zone. Article 3 The amount of bureaucratic hassle required for obtaining any of the visa above shall be at all times less than one half of what foreign postdocs and their families must endure when they wish to take a temporary appointment in the Netherlands.
This emphatically includes the town of Utrecht. Article 4 Since the I.A.U. was unable to place an apostrophe in the name of 9491 Thooft, any other uses of apostrophes on 9491 Thooft or within its territorial zone will be outlawed. (4) Vesta. ).

Ceres (planeta enano) Inicialmente se lo consideró como un cometa, luego como un planeta, y posteriormente fue considerado el mayor asteroide descubierto por el hombre, hasta la creación de la categoría de «planeta enano», en 2006.

Get a filter and look up: That dot is Venus. View full sizeThe Associated PressThis map provided by NASA shows the visibility for the transit of Venus passes in front of sun.
Venus crosses the sun on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, from the Western Hemisphere (Wednesday, June 6 from the Eastern Hemisphere). Known as a transit of Venus, this won't happen again until 2117. The transit is happening during a 6-hour, 40-minute span starting after 6 p.m. EDT in the United States. Images of Venus. Stellarium. Transit of Venus 2012: Spectacular show seen for the last time until 2117. By Eddie Wrenn Published: 00:23 GMT, 6 June 2012 | Updated: 08:09 GMT, 7 June 2012 Stargazers from across the globe gathered together to watch one of the rarest astronomical spectacles today. From the U.S. and UK to South Korea, people around the world turned their attention to the daytime sky to make sure they caught the planet Venus passing directly between the sun and Earth - a transit that won't occur again for another 105 years.

Its most distinguishing feature is a giant impact crater -- named Herschel after the moon's discoverer -- which stretches a third of the way across the face of the moon, making it look like the Death Star from "Star Wars. " Herschel is 130 km across, with outer walls about 5 km high and a central peak 6 km high. The impact that blasted this crater out of Mimas probably came close to breaking the moon apart. At a mean distance of less than 200,000 km from the massive planet, Mimas takes only about 23 hours to complete an orbit. It keeps the same face toward Saturn as it flies around the planet, just as our Moon does with Earth. Armillary sphere impressed - Google Search. Aiii.jpg (JPEG Image, 1101x835 pixels)

Well now, this is an interesting discovery: astronomers have found what looks like a "super-Earth" – a planet more massive than Earth but still smaller than a gas giant – orbiting a nearby star at the right distance to have liquid water on it!
Given that, it might – might – be Earthlike. This is pretty cool news. The Scale of the Universe. 55 Cancri e. 55 Cancri e (abbreviated 55 Cnc e) is an extrasolar planet orbiting the Sun-like star 55 Cancri A. Its mass is about 7.8 Earth masses and its diameter is about twice that of Earth's,[4] thus classifying it as the first Super-Earth discovered around a main sequence star, predating Gliese 876 d by a year. It takes less than 18 hours to complete an orbit and is the innermost known planet in its planetary system. 55 Cancri e was discovered on August 30, 2004. However, until the 2010 observations and recalculations, this planet had been thought to take about 2.8 days to orbit the star.[2] In October 2012, it was announced that 55 Cancri e could be a carbon planet.[5][6] Discovery[edit] Buy armillar sphere poster - Google Search. Ptolemy: Iconography of His Portrait - Ptolémée: Iconographie de son portrait. Starry Messenger: Ptolemy Biography. In the Syntaxis (or Almagest), Ptolemy (second century A.D.) synthesised mathematical astronomy into a coherent whole which rendered his predecessors obsolete and would dominate Western and Islamic thought until the sixteenth century. He also wrote works on astrology, geography, optics and music. Nothing reliable is known of Claudius Ptolemy's life that cannot be deduced from his surviving works; only a few brief and unsupported biographical statements are made by much later sources. 'Claudius' suggests he held Roman citizenship, 'Ptolemy' that he was of Greek descent and lived in Egypt. The astronomical observations that he listed as having himself made cover the period 127-141 AD, from which it may be inferred that he was active in the first and into the second half of the second century AD, and all of those observations are listed as made in Alexandria, so it is likely that he lived in or near that city, still a great centre of learning at that time.
