Electronic Document and Records Management System Implementation Toolkit - Introduction

JISC infoNet are currently working on a new resource providing guidance in the implementation of information management technologies due for launch in 2012. The objective of this resource was to provide institutional Records Managers and other information professionals with a ‘one-stop shop’ for impartial, detailed and practical advice of use during all the stages of a proposed or actual EDRM system implementation that is free from vendor bias and specific to the needs of the FE/HE sector.

This toolkit represented an attempt to synthesise some twenty years of experience of assisting public sector organisations to define their requirements for Electronic Document and Records Management solutions plus all the data gathered from some four months of fact finding in the further and higher education sector. The EDRM system implementation process was broken down into ten high level stages each represented by their own section within this toolkit. Personalisation in presentation services homepage.

JISC IE and e-Research Call briefing day. I attended the briefing day for the JISC's Information Environment and e-Research Call in London on Monday and my live-blogged notes are available on eFoundations LiveWire for anyone that is interested in my take on what was said.

JISC IE and e-Research Call briefing day

Quite an interesting day overall but I was slightly surprised at the lack of name badges and a printed delegate list, especially given that this event brought together people from two previously separate areas of activity. Oh well, a delegate list is promised at some point.
