A. Bruns & S. Humphreys. Building Collaborative Capacities in Learners: The M/Cyclopedia Project, Revisited. Abstract: In this paper we trace the evolution of a project using a wiki-based learning environment in a tertiary education setting. The project has the pedagogical goal of building learners’ capacities to work effectively in the networked, collaborative, creative environments of the knowledge economy. http://www.wikisym.org/ws2007/proceedings.html

Gordon Research Conferences - Conference Portfolio (Visualization In Science & Education)

The Gordon Conference on Visualization in Science and Education provides a forum for the critical examination of the uses of visual images in the physical and biological sciences and in mathematics, of the tools used to create these images, and of their effectiveness in conveying scientific information to specialist and novice audiences. As such, the Conference is necessarily multidisciplinary, bringing together: physical and biological scientists who use (and often create) visualizations for research and classroom use and who test their effectiveness; graphics specialists who create visualizations to advance the frontiers of science and mathematics; and cognitive scientists whose understanding of human perception and cognition guides the research and educational application of visualizations and, in turn, is informed by the results of such applications. Recent Conferences have been preceded by workshop tutorials on evaluating and creating better visualizations.

K12 Online Conference 2007

Posted by Jose Rodriguez on March 23rd, 2012 Here it is, a new year and we’re already gearing up for the 2012 K12 Online Conference. We’d like to offer you the chance to come aboard this exciting and dynamic group of learner-leaders.
Posted by : admin On : March 19, 2012 For all those who love to host parties or get-togethers, serving beverages is something that goes without saying. So, if you are one of them, storing all the alcoholic and non alcoholic bottles carefully in a huge box hoping they won’t spoil in terms in flavour, then you’re mistaken! It is an established fact that bottles containing any type of beverage when subjected to fluctuating temperatures, changes in humidity or light conditions no matter how trivial, can devastate the best of brands that are not only expensive but have been purchased by you with great care. A definite mood spoiler [...] Continue Reading… http://www.office20con.com/

Office 2.0 2006 Conference - Conference

For the past three years, we have been attempting to apply an aesthetic lens to a digital media practice more usually associated with other research discourses, such as group support systems and computer-supported cooperative work. Our experience of acting as practitioners in highly charged situations reveals a gap in understanding and articulation. Those disciplines shed light on some facets of the practice, but leave others unaddressed -- particularly the performative, improvisational, and others that can be glossed as "aesthetic." http://www.bris.ac.uk/parip/ab_selvinshum.htm

Parip/Practice as Research in Performance

REDMOND, Wash, Oct. 20, 2006 – Just ask any business traveler on a red-eye flight after a few days of meetings at corporate headquarters: There’s got to be a better way for businesses to bring employees together face-to-face. Microsoft researchers felt sure they could come up with one – an audio/video device that’s mobile, simple to operate and costs much less than expensive video conferencing systems. Now, Microsoft aims to deliver on all three of these original design goals with Microsoft Office RoundTable, a device scheduled to debut by mid-year 2007. It combines the features of a speakerphone with those found in videoconferencing into a device that Microsoft expects will retail for less than US$3,000.
