Setting the AMT Manageability Engine Password back to Factory Defaults. We recently received a question on our Manageability Forum asking how would we reset the Intel® AMT / "ME" password to factory defaults in the case where it may have been forgotten.

Well, as with most BIO's there is an option to "Unprovision" and restore AMT/ME back to the factory defaults. As with most BIOS's this will also set the ME password back to it's factory default as well. Or we can simply remove the battery for 15 seconds and then be back to all factory defaults. However, with the EFI BIOS, the password does not get set back to it's factory default (admin) via the "Reset to Factory Defaults" option nor does removing the battery accomplish this feat. I forgot about what you posted above. Convertible MIni Tower...you see those 4 oval shaped rubber things on the side of your case? Those are feet. If you look at the service manual, you can remove the top 3 bays in one cage and switch it so the thing can be placed on a desk like a giant desktop, and I presume you would do that to plop a monitor on top of it. That is where the convertible part comes from. IMO, the O/B Intel graphics is inadequate for playing any games other than the free ones that come with the OS. Yes, all 6570 (or any) GPU's should perform the same regardless of the mfr or fan or fanless. Yes, I read those comments about the VGA port being attached by a ribbon cable, making it not so good.
