Site Works: Creative City hoardings

The Site Works Creative City hoardings program will provide opportunities for artists and designers to create printable artwork for display on temporary structures (hoardings) at construction sites across the city. The program aims to: animate the public domain with temporary creative projects by Australian artists provide the opportunity for artists to have their work displayed to broad audiences on city streets transform the visual impact of construction sites from ‘dead space’ to urban canvas, making the city a more vibrant place to live, work and visit.

The EOI is open to all Australian residents, artists, designers, small collectives of 5 or less members and anyone with a concept that meets our creative brief. Proposals

Gaffa seeks proposals from emerging and established artists and curators who have good organisational skills and will require a minimum of assistance. Artists/curators are expected to be proactive and to manage their own install, mailing lists, participants (if a group show) and contributors and to organise extra equipment if required. Gaffa posts details of all events on our website and sends newsletters to our databases as our primary form of marketing. Gaffa provides a selection of plinths, some AV equipment, a basic tool kit of hammers, levels, nails, screws, a shared drill, gaffa tape and paint but anything that is specific to your install will need to be purchased by the artist or curator.
