Frank Abruzzese. Live Load Live Load is the variable weight burdened by a structure, such as moving traffic on a bridge, furniture and people in a high-rise office building, or the weight of a person sitting on a chair.
The process used to make these images is adapted from Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944), whose documentations of the Russian countryside between 1909 and 1912 are among the earliest color photographs. This work predates color film technology, therefore Gorskii used a specialized camera to take three black and white photographs in rapid succession, each frame with a red, green or blue filter placed in front of the lens.
These images were then recombined, projected with their corresponding filtration to reveal full color images. Without the same specialized camera my process is slower. Jaap Scheeren. Jordan Tate. Liu Bolin ou l'art du camouflage. Liu Bolin 刘勃麟 est un artiste contemporain chinois né en 1973 à Shandong.
Il est encore jeune sur la scène de la performance mais tend à un succès grandissant, et international. Diplomé en 2001 du département sculpture de la CAFA, Bolin conduit ses performances en jouant avec le corps comme s'il s'agissait de sculptures vivantes. Il s'intéresse à la question du corps dans l'environnement social : comment se fondre ou au contraire ressortir dans un paysage socio-culturel donné. Dans sa série "Camouflage", il travaille donc toujours en fonction du site dans lequel il conduit ses performances, en tenant compte des éléments visuels et émotionnels autant que des codes sociaux qui transparaissent dans ces lieux.
