Version 0.1 (source : julien Ottavi) The Intuitively Free and the Free as Practice The free software movement came into existence with the GNU philosophy, originally developed by Richard Stallmann, through the GPL licence and the GNU operating system, and later, through GNU/LINUX.

It was called ‘Free’ from the beginning, already an attitude, a choice for a certain kind of society and human behaviour, even before involving software and encoding; which should be considered in terms of continuous development, an in-progress operation, a sharing process. Gathered under this name the enduring questions of the sensible, intuitive and practical approaches to reality frequently arise.

The ‘free’ movement cannot only be thought of as a practice limited to the realm of computing and art, since its origin was the result of a relation to production and to social trade. About Lydia van der Spek I am currently doing a New Media and Digital Culture masters degree at the University of Amsterdam.

Rhythmanalysis – Henri Lefebvre

My interest in new media has been present for a while, having completed a bachelors degree in Communication and Multimedia Design at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. During my bachelors degree I did an internship at a Dutch advertising/communications agency, working on a transmedia storytelling campaign for SOA/AIDS Nederland. Before obtaining my degree I wrote my thesis on power structures within the online network. I have spent a year in Florence, Italy studying art and have been working as a graphic designer since 2009, both freelance and for Dutch e-commerce business Greetz.

After taking some time off from studying I have worked full time for a while and have then gone travelling for three months.

Today the vast majority of photo booths are digital. Traditionally photo booths contain a seat or bench designed to seat the one or two patrons being photographed. The seat is typically surrounded by a curtain of some sort to allow for some privacy and help avoid outside interference during the photo session. Once the payment is made, the photo booth will take a series of photographs (though most modern booths may only take a single photograph and print out a series of identical pictures).

Typical dimensions of these prints vary. There are three countries in the world with major infrastructures of photo booths, the UK, Japan, and France. Origins[edit] The patent for the first automated photography machine was filed in 1888 by William Pope and Edward Poole of Baltimore.
