"A versatile player" ...Union Berlin signs Jung Woo Young on loan

Jung Woo-young, a striker from the national team, will leave VfB Stuttgart for FC Woonion Berlin on loan.

German professional football Bundesliga announced the news of Jung Woo-young's loan recruitment through the club's official website. Jung Woo-young is scheduled to play 2024-2025 season as a member of Union. Jung Woo-young will wear the uniform of the fourth club in the Bundesliga due to the transfer.

Jung Woo-young, who was born in 1999, graduated from Daegun High School, Incheon United Youth Team, and moved to Bayern Munich Youth Team in 2018. Since then, Jung Woo-young, who made his European debut, has sought more opportunities and moved on. He completely transferred to SC Freiburg, where he had rental experience in 2020, and also transferred to Stuttgart in 2023.

Jung Woo-young played in 26 games for Stuttgart last season, scoring two goals and three assists, but he seems to have decided to move as he struggled to compete for the starting lineup this season.

Jung Woo-young's new team, Union, made a splash by finishing fourth in the league in the 2022-2023 season, but suffered from both Champions League (UCL) and league games last season and finished the season 15th in the league.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge at Woonion," Jung Woo-young said. "It's a team that impresses fans' passion and the atmosphere of the stadium." "Jung Woo-young's versatility and quality are the decisive reasons for recruiting," a Woonion official said. "[Jung Woo-young] has not only skills but also the right attitude and a strong will to adapt to any system."

Union will play FC Sao Paulo in the second round on the 31st. In the first round of this season, Lee Jae-sung's team Mainz was tied 1-1.
