Inglaterra

Inglaterra. Ferry. Immigration. Crisis. Mo funciona o sistema politico ingles. No party has been able to secure an outright majority in the House of Commons and, after four days of frantic negotiations between the parties, the shape of the next government is still not clear. The situation is described as a hung parliament, with no single party having enough MPs - 326 - to win parliamentary votes without the support of members of other parties. Sinn Fein's five MPs are not included in these coalition scenarios as they traditionally do not take up their seats. Technically, however, 326 remains the figure needed for an overall majority. The seat of Thirsk and Malton is also not included as the election there was delayed due to a candidate's death.

The Conservatives won the most seats - 306 - and votes, but the largest party does not automatically have the right to try to form an administration. In 1974 Conservative Edward Heath stayed in power for four days after the election trying to put together a coalition, even though Labour had more seats. UK's child mortality rate falls behind other countries. The UK is lagging behind other high income countries on cutting child mortality, international figures show. Along with the USA, New Zealand and South Korea, child deaths in the UK have not fallen as quickly as expected.

The research confirms the UK has the highest child mortality rate - 5.3 per 1,000 live births - in Western Europe. But new global estimates published by The Lancet show that in many poorer countries, the decline in deaths in the under-fives is speeding up. The analysis done by a team at the University of Washington in Seattle found stark differences in child deaths between high-income countries. As well as having the worst child mortality in Western Europe, globally the UK fell from 12th best in 1970 to 33rd best in 2010. The UK has reduced its mortality by three quarters since 1970, and by almost half since 1990, but Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal and Spain have all overtaken the UK in the past four decades.

A tour of the Shree Sanatan Hindu Mandir Wembley's newest looming landmark has opened it doors after 14 years of construction. It is the £16m Shree Sanatan Hindu Mandir, which loosely translates as the all-inclusive temple. There is none of the metal core most buildings have and, instead, it has been built using ancient techniques based on Hindu scriptures.

The method dates back thousands of years and was used to construct the world famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Many of the temple's component pieces have been hand carved in limestone in the tiny town of Sola - located in the Indian state of Gujarat - before being flown over and pieced together in the UK. There were also 41 marble deities made in India especially for the mandir. The temple covers 2.4 acres (9,700 sq m) on the Ealing Road and, at its highest point, is 66ft (20m) tall. Its bright sand-coloured walls stand out in stark contrast to the unassuming surroundings.

Epidemy Oaks Bacterias. 28 April 2010Last updated at 17:32 By Mark Kinver Science and environment reporter, BBC News The UK's two native species of oak trees are affected by the disease The continuing spread of a deadly disease that affects the UK's native oak trees is causing concern among tree professionals and conservation groups. Acute Oak Decline (AOD), caused by a bacterial infection, can kill an infected tree in just a few years.

Some tree experts are comparing AOD to Dutch elm disease, which killed millions of trees throughout the UK during the 1970-80s. They said extra funds for more research into the disease were urgently needed. Although AOD has been confirmed in 55 cases, the number of trees displaying symptoms was steadily increasing, delegates at the Royal Forestry Society's (RFS) annual conference were told. The disease affects the UK's two native species of oak - sessile and pedunculate. Brazil is Latin America's largest country and the fifth most populous in the world with nearly 193 million people.

Its economy is forecast to grow 6.5% this year. A social welfare scheme introduced by President Lula in 2003 has transformed the lives of millions of poor people, although the gap between rich and poor remains high. Geographically, Brazil's richest states are located in a strip running along the coast line, where most of its cities and key ports are located. These states were home to the first European colonialists, and where industry and commerce first flourished.

Brazil's last census results are from 10 years ago. Bolsa Familia translates as "family grant". Payments are usually made to a leading female member of each family. Families earning less than 140 reais per capita ($73) a month receive a monthly payment of 22 reais ($12) per child. Families whose per-capita income is less than 70 reais per month, the program gives an additional flat sum of 68 reais per month.
