Audio Programming: Exporting RunKeeper data to Garmin Connect. Not exactly audio-related, but I wanted to put it somewhere for others to find it (maybe turn it into a bookmarklet). I've used RunKeeper for tracking workout activities a while ago, but today I use Garmin Connect. They both support the .gpx format for activities, but the first one doesn't support mass export and the second doesn't support mass import. Here's the quick-and-dirty approach I did (using TextMate, but you can improvise): Garmin Forerunner 610 In Depth Review. The Garmin Forerunner 610 represents the next generation running watch from Garmin. The watch builds on many areas that the FR405 and FR410 carved out – including a slim profile and advanced workout features. But it also adds a number of heavily requested features, including some functions that had long been cut out of other Forerunner models.

Even more, it’s the first Garmin touch screen running watch. But is a running watch the right place for a touch screen? And does this next version of the Forerunner meet the needs of the vast runner demographic? Well, stick around and I’ll explain. Like all my reviews, they tend to be pretty in depth (perhaps overly so) – but that’s just my trademark DC Rainmaker way of doing things. Because I want to be transparent about my reviews – Garmin sent me the Forerunner 610 for a period of 45 days as a trial unit. Lastly, at the end of the day keep in mind I’m just like any other regular athlete out there. So – with that intro, let’s get into things. Nike+ Sportwatch GPS In Depth Review. There was no doubt when the Nike+ GPS Sportwatch was announced back at CES 2011 in January it caused many heads to turn. After all, it triggered a bit of a departure from Nike’s traditional role with Apple via the iPod/iPhone and the Nike+ experience based on those devices.

More importantly however, it sounded a bit of a warning call to the rest of the industry that they better wake up in the GPS fitness watch category. But how would this new entrant compare to some of the existing powerhouses? And would it meet all the fanfare associated with it? Like all my reviews, they tend to be pretty in depth (perhaps overly so) – but that’s just my trademark DC Rainmaker way of doing things. Think of them more like reference guides than quick and easy summaries. I try and cover every conceivable thing you might do with the device and then poke at it a bit more. Because I want to be transparent about my reviews, I want to be clear that I paid for the Nike+ Sportwatch GPS myself. Unboxing: Running: I’m Watch | The first real smartwatch in the world.

Pebble. Motorola MOTOACTV In Depth Review. (Please Note: This product has been discontinued by Motorola Mobility, which is now owned by Google.) As I noted two days ago, the Motorola Motoactv has completely and totally changed the face of sports watches…literally overnight. Upon its initial release it has managed to offer an immense suite of features and functionality, as well as offering new sensor types and connection methods. But with a first generation product also comes growing pains. Does the Motoactv have these pains? And how does it stand up to an endurance athlete? Well, I set out to find out. Like all my reviews, they tend to be pretty in depth (perhaps overly so) – but that’s just my trademark DC Rainmaker way of doing things.

Because I want to be transparent about my reviews – Motorola sent me a trial unit to experiment with. Lastly, at the end of the day keep in mind I’m just like any other regular athlete out there. So – with that intro, let’s get into things! Unboxing: Anyway…the box: First up is the unit itself: Garmin Forerunner 610 GPS | ForRunnersByRunners.com.
