The current XenApp SDK (MFCOM) supports remote execution using DCOM. Since the XenApp Commands are intended to replace MFCOM, a common question is: How is remoting done in PowerShell ? The answer is that Microsoft will release the next version of PowerShell (2.0) which supports remoting and many other features. The XenApp Commands have been tested with the CTP3 release of PowerShell 2.0, and recent changes were done to make sure all the cmdlets could be remoted properly. In the previous example, a PowerShell session is created first, so that it can be used for several remote commands. Then, a list of applicatio n objects is obtained by remoting the Get-XAAppl ication cmdlet.
