Agnes Obel (2010) Agnes Obel , née Agnes Caroline Thaarup Obel le 28 octobre 1980 à Gentofte au Danemark , est une musicienne, compositrice et interprète danoise. Son premier album Philharmonics (en) est sorti en 2010 , certifié Disque d'Or par l'International Federation of the Phonographic Industry ( IFPI ) [ 1 ] . En octobre 2011, Agnes Obel remporte le prix European Border Breakers Awards 2012 .
Raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina , he was given his first guitar when a bout of encephalitis kept him out of school for a year. The music he heard around him was traditional country blues, and the gospel his grandmother played on piano in a small church in the Blue Ridge Mountains , so that's what he taught himself to play. [ 1 ] He was nominated for a scholarship at the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts . There he studied the classics with Andrés Segovia protegee Jesus Silva .

Nous vous les communiquons ici :by Heather Phares Australian singer/songwriter Jeff Lang became interested in music at age eight, when he started playing the clarinet. As a teen, he switched to guitar and began performing as a blues guitarist at 17, supporting artists like Albert Collins, Rory Gallagher, and Trudy Lynn. His musical vocabulary expanded to include traditional Celtic and folk elements as he began recording his own material in 1990. Along with gigs in local blues bands, Lang formed the Jeff Lang Band as a showcase for his songwriting skills. Though the band broke up in 1993, by the following year he released his debut album, Ravenswood.

On one hand, we are sad to announce that Conor and his fellow Villagers are taking a break from touring. On the other hand, this is for good reason: to make new songs and new artwork. Indeed, some of this work has already been happening behind the scenes and it is with great pleasure that we present to you, as a parting gift, the new video for ‘Cecelia & her Selfhood’. A long-standing live favourite in Villagers shows, ‘Cecelia’ has finally been committed to tape. Indeed, more than a simple music video, it slowly took the shape of a short film by animator extraordinaire Adrien Merigeau .
“Please don’t forget about the past/The hungry years we hid beneath the sand,” says The Hungry Years, one of many standout tracks on Into The Murky Water, the new album from London’s The Leisure Society. It’s fuelled by a pointed, bittersweet kind of melancholy, the sort of feeling understood only by people who, after years of standing on the sidelines, have started to see their dreams come true – people like Nick Hemming and Christian Hardy, the creative duo at the heart of the band. From the moment the title track creeps in with bouncing bass, flurries of flute, jazz drums and Tim Burton-style backing vocals, it’s clear that something has changed since last we met them.
