Whether you’re a retailer, a media site or a social startup, it’s compelling, up-to-date and relevant content that attracts and engages users. If your content isn’t right, your customers simply won’t engage with it in the way you hope. http://mashable.com/2011/04/01/branded-content/

If English is your Second Language – Which Language Do You Blog in?

Two weeks back I wrote a post asking whether readers Use American English, British English or do you Swing like the Canadians? – the resulting conversation was a great one with a variety of opinions offered. This question is a real one and one that I get asked quite a bit by people looking to start blogs. Here’s one question that arrived in my inbox today from Alonso (no URL as he’s yet to start his blog). “Hi Darren, thank you for your blog. It has helped me greatly in preparing to launch my own blog. http://www.problogger.net/archives/2007/09/15/if-english-is-your-second-language-which-language-do-you-blog-in/

The five biggest benefits of a company blog | Econsultancy

The popularity of social media has encouraged many companies to create accounts and profiles on popular services like Facebook and Twitter. However, one of the earliest components of a social media strategy, the company blog, still has the potential to provide some of the greatest value. And for good reason. While a company blog can't fix a product or service that's lacking, or send your site to the top of the SERPs overnight, it does things that may not be possible on third party services that determine the format of content and how it's distributed. http://econsultancy.com/blog/7743-the-five-biggest-benefits-of-a-company-blog

The Wouah Factor

http://www.problogger.net/ In my last video post I spoke about the benefits of using talking head video posts on a blog . Today in this video I want to respond to many questions I get about the technical setup that I use for my videos here on ProBlogger. My set up is very basic (and I’m sure it can be improved), but the results seem to work well. I get a lot of comments on them, and questions about factors like which camera I use, what lighting I have, whether I use a microphone, and so on. As I say, I’m no tech-head so I go with the basics, but I hope you find it useful.
