Jul 25, 2010. My sister introduced me to a pretty hilarious blog site today. It's called Catalog Living - a fun site that imagines the lives of the people living in the pages of our catalogs. Catalog Living is the creation of comedian Molly Erdman. Some of you may recognize her from the hugely popular Sonic commercials. She features a clipping from many of our well-known design catalogs and writes a quick caption about the imaginary people living in that scene. Check it out for a few laughs when you have a few minutes. ;) -Mandy Here's a sample from her site: Space is at a premium… "Gary got the idea from a parking lot in New York. Tutorial Tuesday - Button Bracelets. Tutorial Tuesday - Button Bracelets My girlfriend came over to refill my estrogen reserves last week, and brought with her a fantastic craft for us to do together while chatting, laughing, gossiping and catching up after her long vacation.

One third of the way through summer vacation with three boys, she knew just what I needed. She brought over a bunch of stuff for us to sit down and make our own button bracelets. So fun! The greatest part was that each of our bracelets turned out differently! Do you want to join us? Materials: Buttons in various sizes (test to be sure your cord will fit into the holes)Round leather or coated cotton cord (1 mm in diameter) Instructions: Arrange your buttons ahead of time to lay out your pattern Begin with a length of cord about 18 inches long (you will adjust this to fit at the end, but cutting it too short will result in frustration and some swearing...trust me, I know).

My favorite down time activity is a date night with myself. I like to grab a pint of Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, one spoon, a comfy fleece blanket, and a large Diet Coke on ice before plopping down on the couch for the evening to watch a romantic comedy chick flick. For two hours I get to laugh and scream into my pillow as cheesy love scenes play out right before my eyes. It’s how I prefer to unwind and enjoy a nice reprieve from my own life. I also love reading books. Many years ago my sister introduced me to chick-lit books after the birth of my second daughter, Mimi. After ordering six books in the last six months and having them neatly organized (cough.. thrown on top of one another) on my nightstand, I came to the sad realization I would not be able to enjoy any of these books anytime soon.

Seeing her book sitting on my nightstand made a little part of me sad by the fact I couldn’t just open it up and read it. Recipe type: Main. I like it. what is it? SO MUCH TO TELL YOU. "The kitchen isn't always the heart of a WASP home; more often, it's the garden shed. " - Assouline "One of the hippest and most beautiful destinations in the world, the chic Hotel Il Pellicano, located on the Argentario, is a hangout for many from the design, fashion and art worlds.

With photographs by the great chroniclers of yesteryear glamour, John Swope and Slim Aarons - who captured the likes of Emilio Pucci, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Britt Ekland and Susanna Agnelli relaxing here - as well as recent pictures by Juergen Teller, one of the most influential fine art and fashion photographers working today, the book presents three artful perspectives on this modern-day dolce vita. A visitor's note by Bob Colacello and a full history of the hotel by Bronwyn Cosgrave explore Il Pellicano's illustrious legacy and its continuing seductive allure.
