In fact I've used it twice already. And now for the 3rd time I'm using the same ones. In this design I have actually combined some of the old designs from the other tri-shutter cards I've made and turned it into something new.
This is the first time I tried to make the double bow using a 1/8 inch satin ribbon. Another part of the card that I thought was nice are the white polka dots on the dark purple textured paper. One other thing that I like about the card is the colour of the distress ink which I blended on all sides of the tri-shutter card to give a dark walnuty shade behind the pattern paper. This last Saturday we tried out hand at a Tri-Fold Shutter card and with the new Stampin’ Trimmer this card was an absolutely pleasure to create. I decided to try and make the card a ‘little vintage’ by using the neutrals palette and some fun techniques like ‘spritzing’, emboss brayering, smoodging and even using a mini sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the first and last panels.
Stampin’ Up! Just has so many great accessories to match the vintage look like the ribbon slides, paper daisies and large pearls. Of course the beautiful Paper Doily Sizzlit was just perfect for this card too! The flower on the front of the card had a little ‘height’ to it and so makes it a little tricky to pop in a standard paper envelop …. the solution was obviously to create our very own coordinating envelop that had a little ‘height’ so that our flower didn’t get squashed.
