Philip Rosedale (born September 29, 1968) is an American entrepreneur , best known as the creator of the virtual world Second Life . Within the Second Life metaverse , his avatar is known as Philip Linden . [ 1 ] In 2008 Rosedale was honored at the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards for Linden Lab’s creation of the Second Life online world. [ 2 ]

The Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) is a department at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , United States . It is located at the Pittsburgh Technology Center . The ETC offers a two-year Masters of Entertainment Technology (MET) degree, jointly conferred by Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts and School of Computer Science .
